It is easy with hindsight to look at some developments and think 'why didn't I come up with that?'
We are currently living at point in time where technology is developing rapidly across a wide spectrum of disciplines, this is at the same time as we are bringing billions more people online to join the global discussion. Will this inevitably lead to progression or will these new minds need first to assimilate all of the current and existing ideas in order to further innovate?

I was having a conversation yesterday, about the future of the security industry etc. It seems IMO we have become a little stuck in our ways to the point of being massivly behind the times. We (well i do) moan that we were once seen as a skilled and specialist industry and this isnt really the case anymore.
ie what was the last revolutionary product we had. id say that fogging is coming more to the fore, but this isnt really new more an evolution of an existing idea.

when i read that remark my reaction was REALLY!!!! me being me i was ready to moutuo and put James to the sword, but to be accurate i so decided to use the BBC iplayer. to explain, i'm having a rest/slob day at home, away from the strains of arguing over the DIY with the strife. decided clients can bleeding well wait, my relaxation and better frame of mind from it is well worth more.

i have been around a long time in the security trade, some people have expressed interest in 'how it was back in the day' for installtions, fault tracing in repairs and so on.
this is a blog for me to take a walk back in time, hopefully of interest to others, and for the students perhaps to understand something of why and how alarms developed in the way they have.
