Help, does anybody know how i can get my home security system to work. I have been playing with it and activated the tamper circuit, now i have no LEDs lit on the front apart from the mains power. The unit is a Series 1100 Intruder Alarm System, manufactured by Automated Security Products Ltd 9 Circa 1990. I am a building services Engineer, so i have good electrical knowledge and i presume that there is a reset procedure for this unit.

Hi There,

When you say you have been 'playing with it' what exactly do you mean?.

If you have messed with the wiring this could well give a tamper alarm.

If you have messed with the keypad-too many buttons pressed without a valid user code entered-could give a tamper alarm.

We would need more info on what particularly happened and in what order to give an educated reply to your problem.

Normally if a user code is entered and then the panel is reset it should clear any problems-so long as problems are still not there-ie tampers etc.

Richard.

Hi,

i was carrying out a bell test as usual, and nothing happened, so i tried again two or three times more, at which stage the tamper light on the front came on, so i therefore thought i would be clever and open the panel up and kill the main panel electrical supply, since which i now have no LEDs alight ????????????????????

if the bell didnt sound during the test then I would guess you now have a blown fuse too caused by a faulty bellbox or cable maybe - look at the fuses first
