The newer company is probably just the "lid" not the guts. i wouldn't entertain changing the battery as the charging circuit could be knackered ect ect. Far cheaper long term to change the whole unit. In my honest opinion, if you don't know how to do the tests to check the battery then I wouldn't bother touching it at all.1 point
