All he does is college work, he's not interested in gaming or other 'normal' things (yes he has a gf but she's away @ uni) I thought it would be a nice hobby. I tried it but don't have the patience.

I bought the lad a set of starter picks and a clear padlock to practice on (less than a tenner from some chinky tat place) he's pretty good with standard cheapo locks.

Not familiar with the unit but often the rear is just an extension of the front via a small plastic plunger.

Good chance the internal back up battery needs replacing, take the opportunity to have it serviced too by a reputable company.

Realistically I'd say it's time for a new panel, the keypad membranes do come off and can be cleaned if you are careful and use something like Ambersil or a medi wipe containing alcohol.

Check the spring on the inside of the control unit that should make contact with the lid, it may be either missing (on the floor) or not seated correctly, then try to reset again using your code and the 'reset' button. -

Hi, yes anything programmed as guard will trip, they need to be walk through (inhibit entry) iirc.

I understand and agree ref the accreditation as a measure, the motivation should be (only imo of course) to know you are the best you can be. The badges are for the customers but they were not mentioned, only the motivation. And no, you don't have to justify yourself to me Stu.
