  1. I think @james.wilson was the 1st to predict on TSI that Hikvision was one day to become the "standard" product ? At the time a 16ch sprite was couple of grand, where in 2020 where it couple of hundred for 16ch Hikvision
  2. never heard the term before....
  3. advertised at the price & getting the correct item in reasonable period of is the issue.
  4. There's a chip & pin machine on every "trade" counter... Sometimes the "cash" price is better than the account price
  5. Most trade counters will deal with anyone. Scantronic was / is really expensive in Scandinavia, I've stood behind a Norwegian bloke who was buying stuff to take home.. told he did it on every trip to the UK
  6. The only place i recall the tracking of objects with video would be in a fighter aircraft by use of radar ? IIRC Cathexis then geovision stuff may have been the 1st place I saw analytics in cctv ? The clever the kit, the more likely it is not going to do want you then it...
  7. cool, tell me want you want £ wise to cover your costs + carriage. (I could also send a label?) Later on I'll send it back with some more tat...
  8. I need to support a couple of remote meniver m40's / scantronic I-on's it would be handy to have udl access to these via a webway Before I splash out on a new endstation & rkp, Has anyone got a used rkp & pcb, I can have cheap, so I can check it work on the bench before trying on working site ?
  9. For most it's going to a low cost, mate of mate job with eBay / amazon kit. Rather than control4 in a footballers mansion ? Much like cctv, many domestic jobs think it's gonna be a £100 dearer than them buying the kit... Err running vans & men + buying stuff that's a bit dearer than swan make a job a grand when the sub was thinking £500
  10. If this is gonna be a plumbing forum will I have to get the van re-lettered ? I'm thinking golden showers...
  11. sniggers...
  12. Anything outside is going to FA, if it doesn't FA its not going to detect anybody
  13. a little off topic- https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/lings-cars-gateshead-furlough-coronavirus-18045277
  14. Looks like a computar cheb housing ? I'd want to replace the DVR, & replace the camera with HD 2-5mp thing with motorised lens & external 12/24v Psu If the light is for the camera bin it. It looks like the conduit & lightening protection have been done after wall brackets ? You want a rope around the old camera tied to the building when you take it down, you probably need some fall arrest protection for you. Looking at the pic, I'd not want to win it...
  15. I see a lot of whining on the local rags facebook Bars, restaurants, certain factory's have binned all the work force, many others are expecting full pay whilst they hide away from the world, but expect food, pharmacy's, post, couriers, the nhs ect to be working flat out when work returns I expect to maybe loose a few of the older subscribers / some business. I expect new orders to be thin on the ground & open invoices needing collecting via legal action.
  16. not for long...
  17. Their letting Peter Sutcliffe out as there short of lorry drivers....

  21. As I understand it you should not work whilst furlough'd However no call-out might mean no customers, which might in turn mean no job to come back too?
