Risco eurosec CPX wireless alarm system
MrHappy replied to Maria Gill's topic in Control Panels (Public)
your £50 visit was cheap, £10 each for a sensor battery was dear We'd be more than £104 & if non contract we'd might not come at all By contrast A daytime visit for my house telephone would be £120+vat if my equipment is not at fault The business telephone line went off some months ago £450+vat for an engineer to attend on Saturday morning I declined, they fixed some days latter at the exchange (there a bunch of clowns) I pay call costs & line rental.... you've provided no income for your alarm co. since the install I'd change lithium radio alarm battery's every 2 yrs & the lead acid battery every 5yrs unless they fail earlier In your case I'd **assume** the end station, radio expander & keypad ect... stopped working after 10hrs or so. when powered back up it recharged its battery but shows L! for every radio device or something ? The batterys may not need replacing at this point but I'd expect who however replace them has measured them & found there down on volts? Any fault with your CPX will appear in the log, view it ? -
on the books I've a full 32 zone agiltity the subscriber cancelled the maint, as they could change there own battery's.... they soon went back on a maint which inculdes all battery's we don't do lots with the product, so takes a 1/2 day visit to change every battery & clear faults ... they moan at the high cost. we moan at the low margin we currenlty change 50% each visit, however its a pain the balls

Magnetic Contacts Sticking on Un-Opened Windows
MrHappy replied to Eugene's DIY Den's topic in !!..DIY Installers..!!
If the gap is too wide the reed may not close / may open after a period of being set Depending on the case design you mage be able to double up the magnets which give them more "pull" -

there on surfaces which are stepped apart, a "chunky contact" does 30-40mm gap I wouldn't fit then in the locations you've got -

The reed is just little bit of metal in glass tube.... I reckon most of the branded alarm contact manufactures buy in the same Reeds... The gases escapes for the glass tube & they either FA or just fail (open or closed) I suspect those the fail early have been thrown around or the screws knocked in with a hammer when fitted IIRC 13mm operating gap, thats look way too far apart -
the panel is utter tat & the door contact has probably failed

is it deffo the EOL ? eg- you put it on the directly on the panel with no other wiring & it shows fault ? then moved the wiring of a "working" zone circuit across the panel & the zone input show as health ?

I'd guess this item would work- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cooper-JSB-End-of-line-Module-unit-EOLM-1-JSBFX182-/172879364451?epid=1468192093&hash=item284069c163:g:VIgAAOSwKfVXLhIh
