    Day time front door access seems the way to go for allot of intruders these days because most don't double lock or Chubb lock there doors or have week door frames which kick in , or a silly door panel bottom half that kicks in

    Timed lighting is good , although you can buy wall switches to do this Lock internal doors and avoid complete open plan , even with an alarm some will run round to try and grab what they can Some police say avoid locking doors as they break the frames and damage the doors , but that's not true if you have a decent alarm with internal Sounders , which a burglar doesn't want to stay around for long Apart from that , alarm is better than cameras , and light switching is good , have someone do your bin bags if your away and so on Also external security lights are 50/50 , but if they were linked to an alarm which flashed all of them also scares them lol

  13. Yes existing devices should work Old firmware won't matter on a DIY install you can find that some versions of other hardware might be compatible But then again check the board thorough he has to take it back within 14days if anything wrong with it
