  1. I didn't think hkc does this? It loads the update , then programmes the panel no?
  2. Out of curiosity, does the panel do the firmware update ? So it loads the firmware and then updates itself , similar to most devices , if the laptop was to disconnect why would the panel brick? Wouldn't it simply fail the update at download stage ?
  3. Usually the pitfalls are not having it installed by an installer who does it everyday, as DIY usually isn't as good , as you say you have limited experience, they can always hand it over to you working and you could possibly maintain it yourself. What you choose will also depend on what your trying to protect , if your spending £300 then I assume nothing worth much and your not to fussed if it works or not, but £1000+ for an alarm and separately CCTV £2000+ , these are just starting points. Your reading about dahua and hik being an overkill? Even the basic diyer is fitting some of there range , which has a cheaper end of the market and some stuff more expensive You have a floor plan? How many doors windows , etc difficult to say anything if you don't share that , standard square building ? 5-8 cameras or more? I seen doyers spend £2k just on equipment and unlikely they will need to change anything for ten years Need info
  4. Replace the PCB But at this point if your that confident install and ion 40 which will give you have control
  5. Did you enter the default user code ? Or code you usually use? These panels do go faulty where they lose there nvm memory etc and usually this occurs how you described, but would also have reset the codes I believe
  6. What panel is it connected to? Does any of the galaxy reboot from menu like dimension? But I assume it won't reboot or flush the ethernet card?
  7. Did you try it with the suppressor and old PSU?
  8. This is a long shot , but is this possible?
  9. What's opposite it or near it It's time for pictures , don't worry if install is dodgy , so are mine But your saying when no one is near it right , from a distance
  10. Are you in Ireland? Just wondering how you got app setup, had an installer at some point ?
  11. You enter eng , remove the keypad , wire up new one and then add new one , system should see no keypad I assume you have no app system so can't do it from virtual keypad Or just add new one as keypad 2 and delete keypad 1 , don't really make much difference for you Or you know who to go see right ?
  12. I would swap it, they will get exchange aswell Otherwise go see
  13. They never knew which tho, depends where op bought this from ...
  14. Some of the keypads had touch sensitivity problems , these are all usually exchanged via the supplier , hkc can't tell you which ones are at fault , and over time the problem gets worse where they keypad starts pressing its own buttons as such If you bought without warranties unlikely you can exchange and will just have to hope it's just the Illumination bit
  15. Unless you have some knowledge for this it will be difficult. I would remove the fuse again You need logically check for electrical power , How do you know the mains power is not disconnected somewhere? After inserting fuse that would be your first check , by maybe using a mains tester.
