  1. I had exactly the same issue, wish they would have HDMI, BNC & VGA outputs so you would have plenty of options
  2. Its not a bad system all in all, and if cost is the main consideration I would just replace the keypad. Be warned there are two types of keypads available - 4 wire & 6 wire ,depending on how old your panel is, it may only accept the 6 wire version (6 wire now obsolete but I've seen an odd one listed on eBay) The newer versions accept both the 4 wire & 6 wire keypads. They do a blue LCD version now which looks good. Do you know when it was installed? Have you more than one keypad? Do you set with Gtag Fobs or an ACE?
  3. If the engineer has set the panel up for engineer reset on tamper & system is tampered it usually says "Service Due" If it is service timer, usually warns 2 weeks before then says lock out, when you try & set it will say use code (4 random numbers) I think you can [...] & allow to be used for a further 2 weeks but ultimately think it will be an engineer call out..
  4. I would suggest it may be the alarm service timer, prob will require an engineer call out
  5. Defo Aritech, could be a CS350
  6. I can try that...(Thanks for your suggestion) I have swapped the camera inputs round in the maxcom but that didn't seen to make a difference
  7. Yes auto iris button is on all the time as well as auto focus
  8. Hi, Yes iris button is on. I have ensured any presets that have been saved have been done with it on and with auto focus.
  9. Hi, I have a site with two Honeywell VCL PTZ domes (Orbiters). The domes run back to a 8/2 maxcom & are controlled via a Honeywell (VCL) keyboard. The camera's are not often moved but if moved during the day occasionally in the morning one of the camera's picture is whited out. If you press any preset button then the picture comes back (Obviously this seems like an Iris issue) I have ensure both camera's are sync'd (Via the VCL menu) I have seen this a few times previously and was wondering if anyone had a any advice / solutions? Thanks in advance
  10. Hi, sorry for the late reply... The unit seems to of righted itself after changing the hard drive & fitting a hum eliminator to camera 1. Fingers crossed it keeps on working Thanks for your help / support
  11. Hi, thanks for the reply's... The unit is 12vdc & is fed via a 12v 5amp PSU (which I have swapped out) All fan vents clear & no error messages are present on the log.. Unit also clear of dust..
  12. Hi, Many thanks for your reply… Majority of the camera inputs are via Cat 5 (Baluns), I’m proposing to put Hum Eliminators on the two coax inputs so this would resolve any phasing / earthing issues … Also will probably do a PSCC / Earth loop at the socket outlet that supplies the CCTV equipment just to check there is no iffy readings.. I’m also thinking of reloading the latest firmware again onto the machine & swap out the HDD and format. I just found it suspect that when connected via LAN it rebooted so many times…
  13. Morning Gents, A customer of mine has a Vista (H264) Quantum Dvr (The smaller dvr with no buttons on the front of the unit, everything is mouse controlled) The issue i have is the unit has started rebooting itself 10+ times a day & the customer is not a happy bunny. The PSU is an external 12v one which i have changed (Made sure it was 12V 5amps). I have not changed the Hard drive . I told the customer to remove the LAN connection out of the back of the DVR, this apparently reduced the number of times it rebooted itself... to an odd time. The problem is the customer uses the remote view on his IPhone so need to resolve this. As far as I’m aware the unit has the latest firmware installed but can check & reinstall if required. I have a few thoughts - is the unit being hacked as you can remotely shutdown these units?? I have a Quantum unit myself at home & have noticed lately it reboots itself once a day Has anyone had any similar issues & can advise how i resolve this? Thanks in advance aissecur
  14. It would benefit from a full service if you have not had it looked at for at least 4 years...
  15. Its getting that way...
  16. Hi, how about using a Optex VX402 REC external detector.. It is a very stable optex external PIR with a voice recording facility to frighten the bejesus out of any little blighters attempting to take your dish... You could mount the unit to the least physically accessable side of the dish & bracket off the wall with unistrut cantilever arms and face it sidways on to the dish (which would hopefully reduce false activations from any Cats).. You could connect it to your Risco CPX panel or just rely on the voice output from the unit to scare away any would be theives.. Just a thought for you to consider...
