  1. depending on the type of farm it is beams might not be suitable, for contacts I'd use roller shutter contacts glanded either into a conduit box or small ip rated jb,but I'd also look at installing all cables in heavy duty plastic conduit due to mice rats etc which will eat any exposed cable more so in a farm environment where they are plenty
  2. just buy a second hand lappy if its getting lugged around site, ive got a company toshiba thats around 7 yr old and scratched to bits and a bit **** but its only got work software on and its fine does what it needs to do

  9. i think its the normal answer most would give
  10. the way i read it is the adt engineer didnt try to get him to upgrade and gave the cost reason as to much to be viable and probably told the sub to get a socket fitted next to the panel, but then you have 2 members encouraging the sub to ditch adt for no reason than they are not a local, now thats what i call impartial advice

  18. im surprised,i know a lad who worked for a house bashing co doing installs for major builders he was racking the money in doing 3 and 4 first and second fixes a day tho people would rather upgrade the kitchen than have an alarm i agree
  19. all these new build housing estates have a dedicated mcb from the db from what ive seen you pay extra for 1st fix and extra again it you want a system installed by the builder
  20. i doubt anyone does that, most alarm engineers dont have the gear nevermind knowing what type of supply or earthing arrangement is coming into a building, best to get a spark into do it saves the hassle
