  1. Thats a matter of opinion, value for money doesnt always mean cheap. I am happy to pay £3.00 for a decent latte, but a begrudge paying £1.00 for a cup of instant with UHT milk.
  2. Im looking to replace the transporter and my engineers are saying I need a similar size because of all the kit that have to carry to site. I am not over sure they do need something that big, how do you get lots of rolls of Cat5 to site Andrew?

  5. Hi and welcome,
  6. Installers van so most days it will be on average 50 miles round trip. The longer trips would be 150 mile round trip. But the transporter hardly ever does lots of short trips, not like the connects, they do lots of short trips.
  7. Did better than our it had less than 120k when the engine died I wouldnt mind but we had just paid out about £2k on something or other on it. I could have leased a vehicle for less money than that one cost me
  8. Check the batteries in your smoke detectors, check your drawers and cupboard close to the alarm panel for smoke detectors with low batteries
  9. What sort of a beep is it? is it like a chirp or is it a beeeep?
  10. Easier to steal your drill just hop in the back grab it hop out
  11. Swerve the transporter idea even the VW club think theyre ****. Our one spent more time in the garage than it did out and now it looks like the engine is fooked. My plumber has the same van a year older and his is the same as ours forever in the garage. I will never buy another one. Ive see builders use pickup trucks they are or used to be classed as vans so cheap tax as a company vehicle, Not sure what you can do with the ladder situation thoughhttps://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjMppiPn4LNAhXLIcAKHcmKCYMQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.forconstructionpros.com%2Farticle%2F12004414%2Ftools-to-help-organize-your-pickup-truck-bed-for-work&psig=AFQjCNHsY7s-H6WYM5sk3S-3aXE_SKjQyw&ust=1464712940684428
  12. AHD is still available HDCVI seems to be the new format. That said China still has a few boatloads of 480tvl domes with 3.5 lenses coming soon to a pound-shop near you, apparently Eastern Europe have found out you can get 700tvl cameras now
  13. no just went to Cadbury World first then Coronation street the tour (Dont ask) then had a look at Liverpool (Which was quite a surprise surprise)
  14. Depends on how long you want it for if its just for two weeks while you sit in a carvan then buy a preloaded sim search both amazon and ebay for the best deal, if you are gonna use it more permanently i.e. for work then by a monthly I found Mobi Data to be the best deal at the time but if you google data only sims you can get some good deals. Three seems to be pretty good I changed the works package to Corporate EE and I now pay very little for data sims
  15. I watched a couple of minute of the new top gear utter rubbish, but I'm bias I cant stand that ginger ****. The Top Gear FB page has 124 comment 123 are slagging the new show
  16. Yes but its pretty much everywhere, my kids watched tv all the way from Brighton to brum then on to Manc then on to Liverpool. You can put router mifi high up when you get to your destination if thats the only place you have a signal, and your/ipads/driods/phones will work on your lap.
  17. Yes its quite a handy thing, the kids can watch TV/ play games on their ipads on one wifi router, rather than using up data on their phones. I have a really good deal on my sims for work through EE now, but before that I was using Mobi Data the deal used to be twice as much data for the first three month s but that deal is long gone. You can also buy a PAYGO sim full of data on EBAY/amazon ideal for holidays and so forth, it lasts a year providing you dont use all the data before the year is out. Its a bit like being at home with a router. Depends on the data package you have on your phones of course if its an advantage or not
  18. Bonjour
  19. There is no reason why it shouldnt be
  20. Problem is your budget, and any panel I would recommend would not really be aimed at the DIY market. Our engineers have all been trained on the panels we install and even then they get stuff wrong, and tech support will only talk to registered companies. As a diyer with a small budget, I would not recommend you blow your budget on the most expensive panel only to find that you don't understand how to program it and you cant get any support.
  21. If you are competent at running cables I would go hardwired every time. The hardest bit for you as the DIYer is probably the programming. Other than battery on going costs, and having to get up to the bell box, there are other things to consider with wireless. We have several customers with obsolete wireless systems, we cannot get replacement detectors which means when it goes wrong we have to replace the system completely with another wireless. With a hard wired system the same thing could happen, but any hw detector will work with the panel and any panel will work with the detectors and bell. Dont get me wrong wireless is soo much better than it was, but it will always have its limitations. We prefer hybrid you can fit wireless in those hard to get to places and hw in others. Wireless is easier to install but no easier to program, and much more expensive to buy, hybrid is dearer, but then it would be
