They all do, that said I have heard (on a fb security forum) that people are installing the Hik cameras with speaker's and strobes at camping sites in France, though I couldn't tell you the model number. There will be some distributors in the UK with them probably but distributors have to buy by the boatload in order to compete with each other and Amazon and Ebay. I can get Chinese knockoff Hik cameras before some of the UK suppliers get the real thing most of the time. Not that I would buy them ever again.

Really? That is interesting ADI are going to love you posting that on here, Hik do not like their distributors selling their stuff to JP, and distributors have got into trouble over it in the past . I only know Dahua products, I have never really bothered with Hik for varying reasons. I couldnt give you a comparison other than the fact that they both have similar versions of the same stuff. What I can tell you is Hik are part owned by the Chinese Government, and Dahua are not, yet guess whose face recognition cameras are in all the tube and train stations in Shenzhen

I cant really comment on Hik stuff I am not familiar with their products. All manufacturers have their own protocols and way of doing things, I havent heard anything bad about Hik for a while so they are most likely okay. As I said earlier though just be sure you are buying from a Hik UK registered dealer other wise you may end up with Hik stuff with non uk firmware or worse fake Hik.

We have only just started using recorders with AI , we have been using AI cameras for some time now though. Recorders with AI are fairly new tech, the manufactures say that the recorder is not meant as a replacement for some specific cameras such as ANPR for example, ANPR cameras have not only the technology required they have additional infra red and headlight compensation built into the camera. The top recorders only have 4 channels that can provide decent AI, the settings that I have been playing with seem to work just fine for intruder detection, but the cameras I am using also have the detection built in (just not switched on in my case) I am yet to try the recorder AI on a camera that doesnt have AI onboard, I need to try it just for my own benefit, knowing the product better helps me sell it. While I am working from home now is an ideal time to play around with it, and it is on my list of things to do. Once I have finished sending out all my quotes and updating backup servers for the office that is.

I got rid of all my Lightwave TRVs for that one reason, I got fed up replacing the bats, programming the day and date and relearning them. I have non powered TRV's now. I will wait and see how James gets on with his and I may buy a few for areas where I think they would be useful leaving manual ones in the rooms I rarely use

We use Dahua nearly all their NVRs have basic AI, 5200 series are the mid range recorders if it has AI at the end of the model number its the highest spec. The problem you will be faced with as non trade is buying real Hik or Dahua, unless your buying from a registered retailer they will most likely be fake, and registered retailers are not supposed to sell to anyone other than trade. There are a lot of fake Hik and Dahua sellers on Ebay and similar places

I would think that any self respecting employer would have most staff on furlough, stay indoors and protect the NHS and protect your employees. I have three poeple working inc myself atm, the rest are furloughed on full pay. Even those that could work from home have nothing to do. So Im just covering essential works, chasing debts and paying bills.

This site would work with AI although the beams work fine as well

It is horses for courses I would always look at each site and make decisions based on the nature of the requirements. If the site is not suitable for AI CCTV detection then I would use beams. We have an large engineering site that has beams around the perimeter, it was installed a long time ago but all the cameras are looking from perimeter towards the site, so intruders would already be on site before they are detected if we used the cameras. we cant point the cameras along the perimeter because of high traffic (plus the expense of towers etc. The site has lots of copper and other valuable metal on site, the cameras are looking at the theft attractive property and the land between the perimeter but intruders would be detected by the beams quite a few minutes before any cameras would. Most domestic situations, stables, tack rooms, gardens, garages, etc AI is perfect.
