  1. Broadlink or Sonnoff?
  2. I purchased a sonoff hub very impressed on how well it works, just a bit disappointed its only 433 so atm Im sticking with my broadlink, I may use the Sonoff in the gym so alexa can switch the amp and the garden lights on and off
  3. Apart from it wont set, and therefore wont go off when there is a burglar, apart from that its just fine. Have you tried linking out 5 6 and 7 ? If you have a multi meter then see if they are cc
  4. Day light is flashing because its arming, he said earlier that 5 6 and 7 were omitted
  5. Open and shut the front door, see if it arms, its probably progged as final set
  6. Not all manuals thank god.
  7. Rule of thumb most good security companies will not leave the installation manual. When you buy any product you will normally only recieve the user manual, what did you get with your TV or Fridge? Now you may that your alarm panel is different, however, I would that we sell security systems and an integral part of that system is how it is programmed and set up. If the customer was given the installation manual the installer is leaving the system insecure, because it provides the customer with the ability to meddle and deprogram the system quite easily with a press of a few buttons. Not only that if everyone had engineer manuals for their alarms there is a very high possibility of them falling into the wrong hands because there would be so many of them floating around.
  8. LOL wrong W and the E is in the wrong place
  9. The W is upside down and they missed the E off the end
  10. Map6 was around before the internet So apparently Im a baby boomer
  11. Non-residential premises such as town halls, libraries, shops, shopping malls, art galleries and museums. The majority of persons present in this class of premises will be unfamiliar* with the layout, and evacuation may involve discharging large numbers of persons (from large shops) or gathering together smaller numbers of persons from large dispersed areas. Therefore maintained exit signs would be good practise. * Where occupants would be unfamiliar with the premises, then it would be good practise to install maintained exits signs. This would apply where most of the occupants were unfamiliar, but probably not where there would be only a few visitors; they would be guided by or follow the majority
  12. Non-residential premises used for recreation such as theatres, cinemas, concert halls, exhibition halls, sports halls, public houses and restaurants. The people using such premises can be expected to be unfamiliar* with the layout and maintained exit signs should be installed. However, if the normal lighting for the premises may be dimmed or turned off (e.g. cinema or theatre), a maintained emergency lighting system should be installed. The recommendations in this point 4 are firmly stated in BS 5266-1:2011, clause 9.3.4. Premises used as sleeping accommodation includes hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, guest houses, clubs, colleges and with boarding schools. Persons using premises of this kind may be unfamiliar* with their overall layout and/or may be infirm therefore maintained exit signs would be good practise.
  13. The early Racall stuff worked like a Map 6 IIRC
  14. Hi and welcome Racal Guardall stuff is all obsolete now its been a long time since I looked at the external stuff but if it is just low voltage with nc/no circuits you could use a GJD detector or a watchout
  15. The internet is the real world unlike school where you win a prize for finishing the race even if you came last. The real world is full of life lessons, if you write a post that is not factual, or that somebody disagrees with you will most likely get a down vote. The system is there to encourage you to write facts when it comes to technical stuff rather than blagging it with poppycock, and to encourage you to try to be nice. It also helps you to accept rejection, because in the real world there are some people that will down vote you for no reason other than they feel like it. Think about what you wrote and why people downvoted you, it will help you in the real world to get along.
  16. Just out of curiosity why do you want the installation manual
  17. You may be right I thought it may be because we are still buying keypads for them
  18. If you do not want people to not dislike your posts then you need to make nicer posts. I up vote stuff I like, and down vote stuff I dont like just like any other normal forum nerd. I dont need instructions from anyone.
  19. Hi and welcome Ian
  20. The Gardtec 600 is a direct replacement I believe its still produced
  21. Hi Phil Welcome, but please dont post the same question in multiple topics it makes the place untidy everyone can see your post here
  22. You can add a dialer to any panel but you would need someone to default the engineer code and reprogram it.Find a decent company, invite three to quote, ask them if they are able to takeover and update what you have before you get them around for a survey. Choose the company you are most happy with not necessarily the cheapest. A service add sounder and GSM dialer would be around your budget
  23. External sounders are overrated in my opinion, they get ignored 99% of the time, unless you count the complaints from neighbors when it does go off, and they are one of the first things to go wrong. If you have an alarm installed already get someone to service it, fit loud internal sounder (to scare anyone inside) and a dialer to call you, it will be more reliable than a Ring system and you wont get anyone hacking into it and watching your missus in the hallway
  24. Is that some sort of reference to me living in Brighton, because I ve told you I dont fancy men
