  1. Nah he would struggle to nick any of mine, I dont have customers that about every penny I noticed though, I think its because he has realised Risco are crap Texecom have also let him down, he knows what I use and never heres me complaining. All the other shaved monkeys on FB have told him how good they are. I was tempted to say we've stopped using them since the incident with the helicopter crash but I dont think it would do me any good
  2. If you follow the fb forums there are plenty of shaved chimps asking for engineer codes for this co or that.It is good practice to change the codes I dont think the inspectorates care (even though they should) I have thought long and hard about using fobs as engineer codes all progged with the same number, It is a pain if a fob is lost its also a pain if an engineer leaves and doesnt give it back, but its a lot harder for anyone to get your engineer code
  3. Im guessing it was one of the 12v circuits shorting? but its just a guess
  4. Use the Virgin SMTP settings it seems to work with all email addresses
  5. As a dog owner myself I can vouch that having your alarm serviced regularly by a professional company is by far more cost effective
  6. Take everything out of the 12v and put it back one by one until you find which cable is causing it
  7. Hi Tracey Welcome to the forum. That panel is probably DIY and it is quite old, the default user code is ##REMOVED## if that doesn t work then you need to get a company in to default it if you can find someone that will support that panel now. It is likely that it hasnt been serviced in a while and so its best to get someone to look at it anyway, if you start using it and it goes faulty it can allsorts of problems with your new neighbors
  8. I dont think he needs it anymore this is a 11 year old thread
  9. What happens when you remove the hold off? If the bell doesnt sound then its a faulty bell, if it does, then the next thing to try is put the trigger wire to 0v if it rings then its not the cable.
  10. Hi and welcome Please familiarise yourself with the rules before posting https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/guidelines/
  11. Knackered battery, and probably knackered charging circuit
  12. Yep that would have done it, its tried to charge your charging circuit. You should have split the load and used the additional PSU to power the detection and just common up the ov
  13. I like that but its not welink what app are you using ? I am using RF lightwave for heating
  14. Use a sonnoff or broadlink hub and a rf relay to a zone progged as keyswitch, though I would be cautious about using it to disarm, I dont use Alexa to arm or disarm my alarm, if I did it would maybe be for partset only
  15. I try to control everything by voice, I have thought about presence sensors. I use the alarm to switch all the stuff off when I am out or in bed, apart from heating, I can control that from alexa or the RF lightwave app. I control most of the stuff in the car by voice I just find telling stuff to happen much easier, especially so when driving, I hate looking for buttons and stuff. I like the idea of presence sensors, I liked JW's smart lights that come on when you open the door when its dark. I have enough trouble hiding most of the gadgets I have floating around the house without adding more detectors
  16. Broadlink has IR as well. so can change the TV chanel switch on the AV amp it also controls the older LED strips that use a IR rx, though my kitchen has RF control. I think the Sonoff may have slightly better range but that may be due to the fact that I had to put the broadlinks nearer the TV and amps in the lounge. I have thought about using a IR extender. I do also have a harmony but I couldnt see the point of using two devices to control stuff hence why i havent used the Sonoff yet
  17. I purchased a sonoff hub very impressed on how well it works, just a bit disappointed its only 433 so atm Im sticking with my broadlink, I may use the Sonoff in the gym so alexa can switch the amp and the garden lights on and off
  18. Apart from it wont set, and therefore wont go off when there is a burglar, apart from that its just fine. Have you tried linking out 5 6 and 7 ? If you have a multi meter then see if they are cc
  19. Day light is flashing because its arming, he said earlier that 5 6 and 7 were omitted
  20. Open and shut the front door, see if it arms, its probably progged as final set
  21. Rule of thumb most good security companies will not leave the installation manual. When you buy any product you will normally only recieve the user manual, what did you get with your TV or Fridge? Now you may that your alarm panel is different, however, I would that we sell security systems and an integral part of that system is how it is programmed and set up. If the customer was given the installation manual the installer is leaving the system insecure, because it provides the customer with the ability to meddle and deprogram the system quite easily with a press of a few buttons. Not only that if everyone had engineer manuals for their alarms there is a very high possibility of them falling into the wrong hands because there would be so many of them floating around.
