  1. Are you? I would always recommend that the mains is isolated before the panel is opened as I would expect any competent engineer to recommend there are live terminals on the transformer and the psu
  2. No the tamper has nothing to do with it, mains electricity is dangerous
  3. NO!!!! diss the mains at the spur before opening the panel
  4. There is no software available to enable you to view this panel remotely, it was made long before smartphones were invented
  5. II believe you are correct, I am not that familiar with Scanny anymore but I am sure someone posted here that the newer rkp's are compatible
  6. Before otherwise it will sound as soon as you power down. It will sound when you try to disconnect it but not for so long
  7. The external sounder should start sounding on its own battery if you fully down power the panel. I say should that is what it is supposed to do. So You really need to start at the external sounder, go outside and disconnect that first, otherwise you will upset your neighbors
  8. You're right a blank keypad is not nessacarily going to be a faulty keypad. With no way of shutting the alarm up if you make a wrong move, I am not sure that I would be wanting to DIY that.
  9. At least the cheap and cheerful numpties are getting a taste of their own medicine now
  10. todays install CCTV with proper analytic notification its the future
  11. I see it on FB all the time, I am glad its not my market any more the days of small house bashing that was never an easy days work are gone for us.
  12. Is that a tattoo or just face paint Steve?
  13. On my last house I purchased a couple of cheap halogen light sets for the kitchen from B&Q, I ended up only using one of them. They only cost a tenner, so I thought I might get £5.00 plus postage for the it on Ebay, to my surprise I got £20.00 plus postage. I couldnt understand it the were still £10.00 in B&Q, now I know why thanks Steve.
  14. You could get an installer to connect it to the ARC but I doubt vmuch you will get an ARC willing to take on a diy install, dual path monitoring in the UK starts at £350.00 per annum in the UK. You can get dual path app monitoring
  15. Please dont post multiple topics for the same question its irritating Please dont post multiple topics for the same question its irritating Please dont post multiple topics for the same question its irritating
  16. Plus batteries are a consumable nobody is going to want them without proper documentation and a route for return
  17. The Omnicrom was never a good panel when it was new, its certainly not worth resurrecting a broke one. If your trying to get it fixed cheaply then just buy a diy alarm system and replace it, it would be cheaper than calling out an alarm man who will tell you its past it, although anyone worth his salt will tell you that over the phone. I suspect anyone that says he can fix it and offers to come out for a fee will end up having your trousers down for a call out fee, and quoting you to replace it anyway. just trying to be honest with you.
