  1. Not necessarily there are temperature and humidity detectors available separately, there is no panel that could collate that info and adjust to the environment
  2. Lots of problems with latest BT home hub and some CCTV recorders. We had a problem with plusnet too, with HKC cloud
  3. Yeah but a panel that understands its environment would be beneficial for us all
  4. If the panel that will adjust detection based on the environment, ambient temperature, draughts, sunlight, all the things that cause false alarms can be avoided with some logic.
  5. Features: Nobody makes an alarm with a decent chime noise anymore (I liked the 9100 chime and the DA chime) Variable EOL settings, making panel changeovers a doddle Onboard intelligent analytics, a panel that can make decisions based on environmental detection inputs.
  6. I dont think its a secret
  7. I think you're asking the wrong people, ask us what features we would like yes, how to go about manufacturing it no. My advice to people who want to start their own installation company is always to go and work for an installer for a bit. There is far more to this industry than the black and white most people think. The panel needs to comply with many different EU and BS standards, stuff that you would not have even thought about, working for a co that already produces this stuff would give you that incite. That said Imran (AlYeti) used to work in manufacturing for DA
  8. Assuming that its not locked, but I agree with six wheel anyone blindly taking over a system willy nilly with his fingers crossed hoping the incumbent co programmed it right is not only unprofessional, but sooner or later will end up becoming a victim of his own laziness.
  9. Everything should have a anti tamper circuit. Burglar alarms are designed so that they cannot be circumvented when they are disarmed. There is a clue in the name anti tamper, if there was no tamper on the internal sounder a visitor could open it up and disconnect it while you are preoccupied making them a nice cup of tea. The reason we ask about the battery, is because battery failure will cause plenty of false alarms, including intermittent tamper.
  10. As above, when was the battery last changed?
  11. Disconnect it first, you wont be able to shut the door otherwise
  12. If you leave the main control panel in the freezer over night it defaults back to its factory settings
  13. Hi Lewis Welcome to the forum, please familiarise yourself with the rules before posting https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/guidelines/
  14. Ideally, you need one that does AHD TVI ect as well
  15. Its ip only?
  16. Hi Rich Does the detector light up when you move in front of it?
  17. Hi and welcome
  18. The battery is knackered pulling the system down when you power it up
  19. I remember when you googled spermburpers.com and you were disappointed
  20. Down power, then power up mains only
  21. Mine is a few years old now, cant remember the make and there are no names on it. Just had a look on ebay and there are hundreds of different ones now, mine looks quite old in comparison. The app that works with mine is called smartbell. This one looks like it may be the updated version, the ancillaries are the same and the app looks the same https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WiFi-Wireless-Video-Doorbell-Smart-Door-Bell-Security-Night-Vision-APP-Control/264157656516?hash=item3d8105f5c4:m:mK2Sm6fNLOLsdtBX7lHsLgQ:rk:12:pf:0
  22. I know alarm engineers that cant wire up two way lighting, never hear them say lights are rubbish, they would just google how to do it. I suppose thats the difference between, our trade and sparkies
  23. Driod is andriod, but I dont have Hik or Ring anymore I sent them back, I have a cheapo Chinese one from Ebay which on the whole worked better than the other two, but still doesnt work like the advert. My honest opinion, there isnt a doorbell product that works like the Ring ad....yet. There will be as it is improving all the time. I would recommend a cheapo £30.00 Chines one until they do bring one out that actually works, either that or get a Comlit VIP system, they do work but they are hard wired not WiFi quite a bit bigger than ring or Hik, and considerably more expensive.
