  1. Sorry I meant the customer can remote log in not us, keyholders reset the alarm without attending site even, whereas when I was an engineer the customer couldnt reset on a non confirmed alarm there wasnt such a thing they were all alarm activations, and they all required a engineers reset.
  2. We get on average three calls a week, most of our chaps still go about their business whilst on call, they just cant drink or go too far out of our area (which to be fair that would mean getting on a plane) with remote login to alarm systems nowadays its all very easy on call
  3. Texecom panel does not comply to BS5839 part 6 LD2/3/4 Grade B its an intruder alarm that has the ability to take smoke detectors, but these are purely to be treated ancillaries and do not comply with BS5839 in any way
  4. Hi
  5. Not very green it makes you wonder whats going to happen to all that plastic
  6. Like everything in life if you look after it it will last longer, you wouldnt not service your car, it might breakdown and leave you stranded. Its the same with an alarm system it might breakdown @ silly oclock in the morning and you may not be able to silence it
  7. Sometimes the right advice is not the same as the advice you want to hear. A burglar alarm is not the same as a vintage car, no one is going to come and admire it when it goes off in the middle of the night, like they would when your on the London to Brighton in your vintage car. Preserving an old bit of kit is normally less cost effective than replacing it with something new. So if you replace the transformer, you still have a ten year old PCB with ten year old components. The panel been on on 24/7 for the last ten/eleven years, its beginning to fail. It has served you well, just remember the good times you had with it turning it on and off, and do yourself a favor and update it.
  8. Is the building expanding and contracting? if the detector is moving it will think that an elephant has broken in
  9. Hi and welcome
  10. Ive just signed up for the home basic one, I intend on using it for incoming only and use the mobile for outgoing too, but the 1000 minutes a month for £5.95 seems reasonable. Ive just purchased a gigaset VOIP 3 dect phone set, once I have it up and running I will see how it goes then cancel my landline with Virgin.
  11. I was thinking about just buying a sip dect set, I only have dect phones at home anyway and they are getting a bit old now
  12. Bump I am using 3cx at work,it works really well and I have been very happy with it. I would like to do away with the home phone now we rarely use it apart from the missus calling the mother in law but its costing a fortune because I have it on free calls anytime. I never answer the landline unless I know who is calling most people I speak to know my mobile. Our mobile package is unlimited calls so apart from the mother in law its not used. So I was thinking I could get a sip phone for home for incoming only and use the mobiles for outgoing, I dont need a 3cx system so what can I use that free and basic to receive incoming calls at home?
  13. Were aimed at everyone We are an NSI gold co we offer self monitoring from £60.00 per annum you can have audio verification with two way response from any alarm company if you really want it. The reason none of us promote it is because you are reliant on what the operator hears as to how they respond. Two way response is only really any good if the person breaking in you house responds to "Whats the password?" So what does the operator do when he hears nothing? We can offer visual verification self monitoring from £60pa you can see what triggered the detector, and you have a picture of the perb to give to the police, because its unlikely that you will be home in time to catch them anyway.
  14. We charge far less than that for keyholder only And depending on what type of monitoring you have you can have Police response for around £50.00 per annum more.
  15. Id agree monitoring is 100% better than bells only, but you need one that is actually set up with Police urn registration, otherwise a bloke in a room dialing 999 because he didnt get a password could be a problem. That said whats happening at the moment I am guessing because they cant hear you they are calling the Police?
  16. It may sound like we are taking the pee, however, when you do something for a living and take pride in what you do, its a little annoying when a company comes along and does a half arsed job and then charges twices much as you would for doing it properly
  17. No tools are left in this forum over night
