  1. Is this for personal use? I have a Dell multi function laser printer at home, that I am very happy with. The toner is very cheap on Ebay and Amazon (copy not original) I purchase another for the office and that one even has WPS we no longer have a photo copier, we scan anything that needs to be copied, but most jobsheets are electronic. My one is like this only it is smaller and cheaper but not by that much https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-S2815dn-Ethernet-Multifunction-Printer-Black/dp/B0170RA7KS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523280938&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+multifunction+colour+laser+printer
  2. Quoted for agreement
  3. Your insurer has asked for Grade 2 intruder did they give a grade for the monitoring? It is quite hard for us to say what we would recommend without knowing the risk, on the same note, we would not expect you to tell us your theft attractive property on a public website though. So we can only tell you what to ask the installers.
  4. Upstairs for thinking downstairs for dancing
  5. Police do not approve anything
  6. Q70 and the older 1070 have a different facility code,I dont know how much longer HKC will have that for though, once the ACT stock runs out who knows what they will be doing
  7. The problem was that customers forgot the code on the way in, it didnt matter if they forgot it on the way out. Standard fobs wont work with texe, you can prog texe fobs to work with other panels. There are a few manufacturers that have used secure format, and others that have used facility codes so that other fobs dont work with their panels but very few are actually using a format that cannot be read at all
  8. We sell copy fobs for most brands
  9. Again that would all depend on the risk, back in the day when alarm engineers used to do keyholding I got called to some actual break ins and I would say that its not much fun. I was a big strapping lad back then but I would say anyone that tells you its not scary is lying and I would not recommend it even when you know the Police are on their way, let alone when you know they're not.
  10. I sell a lot of monitored alarm to residential customers, its normally an insurance request, but occasionally I go do a survey and the risk assessment say's monitored.
  11. Normally because the insurance company has requested it.
  12. There are ADT engineers on here that are very good, I would have no hesitation in trusting them with my alarm system, but like all companies there will be good and bad. ADT are very big so the law of averages would mean they get a bad press. I would recommend that you get three quotes, choose at least one smaller independent go with whoever makes you feel most comfortable. I guess you dont live in the cheapest house so dont choose the cheapest security, those selling on price are normally not the best. Both NSI and SSIAB can provide Police response, and in the unlikley event of something going wrong you can complain to the inspectorate.
  13. Calm down calm down I dont think he meant anything by it
  14. Hi Welcome to the forum You can search for approved local companies in yor area using your postcode at one of these websites https://www.nsi.org.uk/directory/#topform or https://ssaib.org/security-provider-search/
  15. QFA I thought very good value we would be nearer £1k incVAT
  16. First off where are you buying your batteries from? Secondly you say the battery was last changed a couple of years ago how long was it before that? My guess would be that it is the main PCB, lofts are not really the best places for electronic components, they are subject to extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter all that expanding and contracting doesnt do anything any good. This on top of the fact that the panel is at least fifteen years old and nothing lasts forever especially when you consider that its been on even when its not set, I would be happy if I had got that life expectancy out of a fridge . You could try breaking down the circuit board to component level to try and work out which bridge rectifier or transistor is failing, but its unlikely you will get help with that here, the time it takes to diagnose a fault to component level versus the cost to replace the cpu is far outweighed, so most engineers only know how to replace panels. The other problem is you really need an oscilloscope and the knowledge on how to use it a multimeter will only tell you the basics
  17. If you pressed no when in changing code the code would have defaulted. Try the default code which could be 1234 or 5678 or 7890 (check the user manual). If this does not work your installer will be able to default the code for you but they will most likely charge you
  18. Its possible that Wicks had their own set up, do you have the original engineers manual or have you downloaded a rascal manual? We dont install the stuff that is easily available for DIY, but many here use Texecom panels. I would think that you could still set it up as 4737 so would not need to fit end of line resistors, programming is fairly basic
  19. The old Rascall panel is obsolete now Racall Guardall have gone, theses panel seem to last about 15 16 years when regularly serviced, so you have had your moneys worth from it. I used to install these myself back in the 90's when they NVM goes like yours has there is nothing you can do. On the up side, whatever you replace it with (assuming you dont go to Wicks or B&Q or Ebay) will be a big improvement, later panels are far more advanced.
  20. Job Security is one of those things that money cant buy, at the moment we are busy and everyone I know are busy, so there is loads of work out there and its likely to stay that way for the foreseeable. If you are busy as a Sub and happy that your workload is constant then what is the advantage to going on the cards? 28 days holiday, and a van load of sick pay, a workplace pension, overtime when a job goes over, vehicle, vehicle insurance, fuel for vehicle, phone and workwear, insurance for when you fall off the company ladder, company insurance for when you drill through a customers water pipe. ................I think I might go back on the cards
  21. Hi Josh Welcome Give Ian Austin a call at the alarming co, next week (he's away this week)
  22. Chinese prices are rising daily apparently, so Ive been told wages are going daily due to property prices in the industrial areas. The stuff I have been importing is getting cheaper to by from UK manufacturers. China is improving their kit but the one thing that was in their favor was they were cheap, if prices start going up they will be less popular.
