  1. you cant count its 8
  2. There is already a topic on this called Alexa Just realised its in the trade section and you are not a trade member yet
  3. The risk should be ABC A area. B Building, C Content. The area and building in this case lower the grade over the value of content, but needs a high grade dualpath monitoring
  4. I have seen a fair few come and go over the years Sectron was my favourite, when I was an engineer. I think it is down to what you are used too and expect in a lot of cases. We used to use EMCS and Yeoman but found EMCS more problematic. I know others that swear by EMCS. RVR are an off shoot of Custodian I know people that swear by Custodian I always found them harder work than they needed to be, and RVR as a monitoring co the operators were rubbish, the rep was fantastic though, really knew his stuff deserved to be working for a company that used decent staff.
  5. We have used RVR not very good but Yeoman were okay. Qvis were a box shifting company 15 years ago that branched out into CCTV and then started their own CCTV monitoring about five years ago. We purchase from them but I am not sure that we would trust them enough for monitoring CCTV just yet. I could be very wrong but my experience of their transformation from box shifter to CCTV trade sales put me off.
  6. It just has to have a maintenance contract, obviously they are expecting you to check that it is in good working order. The insurance co has not asked for anymore than that though.
  7. Well no one is going to try and circumvent the bell I suppose, and if the bell isnt working, well I doubt they will get burgled any way LOL. I wonder if that was the sort of conversation that went on at VW " Well no-one is really bothered about global warming "
  8. The link has just proved that you do not have a tamper circuit, if the bell doesnt ring on test it means the 0v is not getting to the bell, if the bell works then you have no tamper return, which could be simply because your tamper switch's are not closed
  9. Unless your changing the grade, and the insurance co requires it then again no need. If we installed a system to 4737 ten/twenty years ago and then upgraded the panel, we would prog the panel to 4737, and not reissue. However, if it was due to loss of Police response we would have to upgrade accordingly and reissue a new cert.
  10. Intrinsically safe are made similar to marine grade, both are made for hostile areas intrinsically safe would be bomb proof but also made so that there is no chance of a spark, marine grade would be salt water resistant. Several manufacturers made these types of housings, but if theyre that old the cameras themselves will be low res anyway
  11. Looks like an intrinsically safe camera is it in a firework factory or similar?
  12. bonjour!
  13. If it was a takeover of system installed by another NSI co then it should already have one. If the customer requires an NSI cert for their insurance then you should issue one but you can charge for it. If it is not a customer requirement you can just maintain it without certification. The sames as you can service an automated gate without NSI certification.
  14. I guess during the day the place is hostile to smokes, and so need it as a heat only. We have a leisure centre that send out one set of messages on the PA system during the day (Staff announcement 51) and another when the place is closed (Get out the place is on Fire) I also guess any burglar breaking in and the Fire alarm goes off is gonna know he has been rumbled BTW welcome Adam
  15. Its a polite way of saying theyre fat
  16. You just add id expander's to the 600 series panel, they used to have biscuits too, but they were the new id not the old id.
  17. Gardtec also have a replacement
  18. Hi and welcome
  19. They will be copy Hik, only Hilk sell Hik through there own uk approved distributors.
  20. CCTV Direct eh, High end eh, have you tried the pound shop for the tools to install it??
  21. Only one way to find out ......................................................FIGHT!
  22. My guess would be that you have solved the problem, but finding a credible cause will stop you investigating further, so I dont blame you for using caution. That said I am 99% sure it is most likely the cause.
  23. If the pir is not activating when full set logically it is unlikely to be power at the panel. It may still be an intermittent power fault on the viper cable
  24. That narrows it down a bit use the 24hr tamper wires as the circuit and link out the tamper circuit at the panel. If it stops you either have an intermittent short between tamper and alarm or an intermittent open circuit .
