  1. So far so good. They are on trial though Look nice and the pirs / dt look similar which is a bonus
  2. But they will run out. It's a crying shame imo
  3. So that system I fitted glitched whilst on site the other day Got an 88 with 1 wired expander and a 32 ricochet expander address 2. When exiting engineer it lost the two virtual expanders, 3&4 iirc, Had to reprog the lot as another eng by accident pressed (yes) to confirm
  4. I agree We've gone to texe elite for now, seem ok I fitted about 20 of the new ones, had enough after a day with them so sent the rest back.
  5. only with a UDL code to stop you connecting via RSS
  6. And what happens if you accidentally not knowingly fudge the programming on your alarm, it then doesn't work as intended, who do you blame then? Why do you need the engineering code if its maintained by somebody else?
  7. We have a fair bit! Think of one 2500 with a good 70+ biscuits at a guess
  8. they can come back and sort it, i aint getting involved with that, could see all sorts happening, projector dropping when switching on lights and all other types of *****
  9. that'll do me This place if fully networked, cinema rooms/xbox etc and all the lights are ran through it too. They only want the back lighting on all the smart light switches turning down, probably a simple job, they asked the question on the way out, so i said ill find out.
  10. Anyone know much about it? Customer has an existing system, wants the light switches backlight dimming down. Looks like its all registered to the dealer, and therefore locked down? Just want a bit of background before i tell him not interested/cant/dont want to do it
  11. Hot around a dozen now. Had one fail today Got a few UDL (just not actually used it yet, need a play first) Half are on SIA with Galaxy2. Seem ok for the price point so far.
  12. Just installed an 88 with about 30 richocet devices, went well, learnt everything in, left the lid off the expander whilst on site all day, security of the mesh was all green, good to go. Been in for over s week with no radio issues so far. Theis was also with external wireless detectors.
  13. not too bad then. Not something ive had to do tbh, but handy to know,
  14. how messy is that though at the camera end? Ie how big is the converter?
  15. not had any issues personally at that distance. Sometimes on a longer run we may supplement it with a .75 flex, but its rare
  16. CCA Basically its ****, and gives a much higher resistance than standard copper cable. Measure the resistance on the runs, you'll be surprised (maybe) We tend to fire the video down a twisted pair (browns), then power down the two others. So thats the blues twisted together, and the oranges.

Any modification to the supply side would/should need a minor works.

nope You done need to be qualified to be an electrician, just competent. Under the scope of competent, the only way to "prove" you are, would be works done follows 7671. So thats where all the paperwork comes from.
  19. Receiver no or account no all removed? And you 100% should not have the powers connected together.
  20. We used to fit them, I rate them. Liked the fact the dt and quads look the same.
  21. christ! Wish we had the time, that's epic!
  22. Change the output of the panel to detector reset. Then connect the 0v of your viper to it. This will power cycle the unit every time you set the alarm, thus clearing the led. In the book of words
  23. For me there's too many grey areas at the mo, and bits can be down to interpretation . There needs to be a pocket guide type of thing for normal goons like me on the tools, and a revision at every update, what's changed and why...... I'd pay for sure, would others? depends on them i suppose. An electrical one was under £20 off memory. For something to refer back to whilst on site, would be handy.
