  1. if you like playing with relays, you could do it with 3 One progged as system set from the panel One two way relay thats triggered via the PIR directly. One of these relays connects to the zone as normal, one will connect a switch wire to dialler through the set/unset relay (C/NO). This then will connect to second input on dialler with speech assigned as Garage Intruder, Here all day.
  2. agreed, just a nice option on the secures imo. And yes, had the issue on an internal elmdene INT500 sounder causing a issue when triggered. Ran the tamper return it though a 120l relay in the end!
  3. Most new connections are also SIA, we have a guide i wrote for idiots. That ensures all codes are sent (like zone omit for example..........)!
  4. At the mo we use Secures, all our GD's are on 485, the G2 uses dial capture for UDL. We still need to use a zone for LF, the Secure has a nice "galaxy mode" option for line fail, enable that and you simply connect the resistor into the zone.
  5. No but thats a good idea. At the mo i tend to do lots of the signalling commissioning, so i know they all go, however thats a good idea. I'm going to add that into the pack, just a simple check list. (at the mo if i dont commission, i'll check on mas at the earliest possibility all were sent) Now with regards to temporary disconnection, how are you implementing this? At the mo ours is again paper based, and on the return of engineers dockets inputted into it. This is then reviewed to make sure nothing is left outstanding....... Again this needs sorting out some kind spreadsheet or something, stick it on the shared drive. Its a shame we dont use AM or the like, but we are tied but what we use by out sister company.
  6. oh aye forgot the handover checklist. Yeah its different, we just initial whos done what ie hand over to customer, panel etc. Just keeps a note, if there's any slack practices, ie if we find a panel missing grommets etc, or poorly fixed, we can audit the next job to see if its a reoccurring theme for example. so does anyone hand over a record book? (its a little nsi book with a log in the back, and about good house keeping etc)
  7. So at the moment we use a handover pack that includes the following On site we issue and leave, Manual Record of operation checks (ROC) Historical Log Record book We take back to the office, Signed Completion cert installation sequence plan (whos done what on site eg panel/walk test etc) Copy of ROC Keyholders (if not setup before site visit) Corrective sheet (if needed due to any disconnections ie we add police if new connection/URN etc) Then, these get scanned in, and the customer folder is created/updated. Is there anything to say exactly what documents are needed? This system has been in place forever, so just trying to streamline/update it a little. For instance, is there a requirement for a record book anymore? I can see how it was necessary for an old optima with a 5 event memory, but imo its now not needed. I meant to ask our inspector the other week but it slipped my mind.
  8. So have one that i'm going to put on a bench panel to try the udl this coming week. Connection wise, how do they interface with GD, and will they interface with G2 in anyway yet for UDL?
  9. Well it cant be. Door as entry exit. PIR as inhibited. Thats what that zones does. Inhibits when the entry time starts, immediate when it hasn't seen an entry timer start Time to re check ;-)
  10. http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/37781-px500-swap-out-dualcomm-query/ ?
  11. id say, as it needs to 'dial' the dualcom etc etc

Any modification to the supply side would/should need a minor works.

nope You done need to be qualified to be an electrician, just competent. Under the scope of competent, the only way to "prove" you are, would be works done follows 7671. So thats where all the paperwork comes from.
  14. Pyronix enforcer. We fit em on cheap and cheerful, Rick solid. And do a nice dt. We always cable the bell though.
  15. Receiver no or account no all removed? And you 100% should not have the powers connected together.
  16. We used to fit them, I rate them. Liked the fact the dt and quads look the same.
  17. We had this There's first one was a talk talk branded d link. Worked fine on the LAN, but opened relevant ports, but couldn't get it to work. Tried everything.... Then they got a technicolor talk talk unit. Eventually we got it to work. Proper **** unit. A quick google of port forward with these routers confirmed this!
  18. christ! Wish we had the time, that's epic!
  19. I found the keypad slow, at one point it told me wrong code entered after me activating it, then it unset.... Also the cringe at the talking alarm, dunno maybe it's just me, but the enforcer is the better system.
  20. Good stuff I came in here to say what ever you do don't get a risco agility Had the (mis) fortune of one today. Crock of ***** IMO. Much rather an enforcer any day for wire free.
  21. Change the output of the panel to detector reset. Then connect the 0v of your viper to it. This will power cycle the unit every time you set the alarm, thus clearing the led. In the book of words
  22. For me there's too many grey areas at the mo, and bits can be down to interpretation . There needs to be a pocket guide type of thing for normal goons like me on the tools, and a revision at every update, what's changed and why...... I'd pay for sure, would others? depends on them i suppose. An electrical one was under £20 off memory. For something to refer back to whilst on site, would be handy.
  23. Plain English for regs? 100% yes as an engineer!
  24. Good stuff, did it go ok??
