  1. You will need a company to takeover and service the system. They will then be able to reset and reprogram the system.
  2. IIRC the zone doesn't even need to be programmed in to use zone mimic. Failing that Exit terminator or the like
  3. I thought the real pros where fitting Honeywell from Screwfix? "Where the trade buy" apparently...
  4. I can't see it being a ground loop. Most likely a PSU or supply issue, maybe even the camera you mention not working dragging the others down. Humblocks only mask an issue and are not really fixing it.
  5. Best thing I did was stop my ladders making a noise with some pipe lagging.
  6. Not necessarily, competent; unless domestic.
  7. I would guess the 1852 has been replaced by the 1853, like 1851 was before that. It will be an equivalent standard.
  8. Ah the old Sparks vs Alarms debate. I have seen plenty of rough arses in both sectors. If he was being stereotypical, he's probably right?
  9. Technical support will be for trade only. Some panel options maybe be optional or not available for that model? Probably not a good idea to post all your panel details online?
  10. It will be very useful heading forward to have good knowledge of networking, this is the way the industry is heading.
  11. The part arm delay is shared for all part sets. Yes, COMWiFi will do push on there app, make sure you have the correct COMWiFi for your panel (large black aerial).
  12. Personally I would at least use a section of ali tube from the ceiling down to the keypad. Even if it is tacked everywhere else.
  13. Yes, on Texe at least 15 minutes in commissioning mode of which signal is -6dB of standard operation.
  14. Plenty of spiders, flies and woodlice Maybe the odd mouse or squirrel if your lucky
  15. a) The DVR is providing the pivot, put simply if the DVR is not connected there would be no access to the LAN. b) Port Forwarding is opening a port through the firewall from the WAN to LAN. Therefore (in a domestic setup) if that LAN device is compromised there are no other layers of protection from other LAN devices. c) Yes d) There are no extensive tests on any DVR/NVR? Most of these are on a P2P network which I would agree are highly likely to be more vulnerable. I mentioned my opinions of the flaws with P2P DVR's, a while back.
  16. It's mesh so as above you can use extra contacts to increase the signal security. Either Contacts or the new external detectors, would do. It will depend on the environment so best to bench test first
  17. Maybe it's an intentional competency test?
  18. Texecom travel all over the show, they provide support to other countries. So I doubt an island in the channel would be an issue?
  19. IMO this is going way off topic, but... You keep referring this to the same as "engineers codes", most seem to agree this is not the case. If any professional in the trade was fitting cheap DVR's shown as examples here, they won't be worried and neither will the customer. I don't know what you believe trade areas of the forum are for but there are no "engineers codes" shared on this site, trade or public.
  20. Meh, Visonic... The warning will be something else not the keyfob. Keyfobs should enroll easily with the ID, arm and disarm with them and will show networked.
  21. Depending on the standby time you could have the geny on during daylight hours. When work is complete recommend the batteries to be replaced. I recommended this same thing for a customer that was having a three phase supply installed to replace a single phase supply. The system worked overnight and recharged on the geny during the day, was over a weekend IIRC. Worked well, replaced the 8x 7Ah in the ACU's the Monday after they had finished. RE mags, should have a constant current however there is a higher inrush when energising.
  22. I believe there just conventional too.
