  1. Issue with shocks is they can be triggered from outside the premises, so therefore cause false alarms. Issue with cats is they jump on furniture and false activate many "pet friendly" PIR's.
  2. Only TS700 keypads will work on a 700, they are getting rare. You could change your code if you want a bit more life out of it. Probably recommend a Prem if your looking to upgrade. Easy, if you know what you are doing?
  3. You can program it however you like if you know how. It's there a sensor to start the timer on the ground floor? Have you considered a part arm bell delay or an extra keypad in a better location?
  4. Yep I recall FSL as a Scantronic thing. There is only ever one EOL resistor anyway. When you think about it, DEOL and TEOL seems odd/inaccurate terminology.
  5. Different terminologies for different manufacturers.
  6. Maybe there was a problem with the wiring causing the original issue?
  7. 10Kg worth of hand tools plus bits and bobs in an old drill style toolbox and small length standard CK side cutters. I live in the north too, if that matters... Soft storage is not for me, I would replace mine for a similar sized toolbox if it broke.
  8. If the DSL is not filtered at the master socket it will be running around your house and picking up interference. Some of this comes from the ringer circuit. Also you want to filter the DSL as close to the exchange as possible to get the fastest speed. Another point to note is if you do use microfilters you may want to swap them out, the components in cheap ASDL filters may not be rated for the higher frequency of VDSL.
  9. The reasoning behind the Mk3 is to remove the interference from the ringer circuit that happens after the master socket. May find that other FTTC providers have been switching over without getting Openreach in, so BT are doing the same. I don't see why they don't supply you with a plug in master socket adapter plate filter as standard instead of the microfilters. Come to think about it they make money selling them at the BT shop.
  10. Swap Shop is Trade Only http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/forum-trade-access.html
  11. Maybe an admin **** up? HH5 can do ADSL and VDSL automatically You maybe right, I suppose for most people they will see an improved in speed without coming to site. I can't say I have seen Infinity without a MK3 etc round here.
  12. I was thinking candle stick in the library myself.
  13. As above. With vDSL it's filtered at the master socket.
  14. Best go for the Exit Terminate or Custom options then.
  15. Gonna be a pain to get the bottom plate off and remove the sensor in the future?
  16. You will need a company to takeover and service the system. They will then be able to reset and reprogram the system.
  17. IIRC the zone doesn't even need to be programmed in to use zone mimic. Failing that Exit terminator or the like
  18. I thought the real pros where fitting Honeywell from Screwfix? "Where the trade buy" apparently...
  19. I can't see it being a ground loop. Most likely a PSU or supply issue, maybe even the camera you mention not working dragging the others down. Humblocks only mask an issue and are not really fixing it.
  20. Best thing I did was stop my ladders making a noise with some pipe lagging.
  21. Not necessarily, competent; unless domestic.
  22. I would guess the 1852 has been replaced by the 1853, like 1851 was before that. It will be an equivalent standard.
  23. Ah the old Sparks vs Alarms debate. I have seen plenty of rough arses in both sectors. If he was being stereotypical, he's probably right?
