  1. I think you will find there are outstanding changes as of December last year. ICO have updated there website to reflect these changes.
  2. That is not how the ICO interpret it, since the exemption changes last year.
  3. It doesn't work like that in real life scenario. Customers use the wrong code (bank code/ work code/ home code/ whatever...) panic and then walk around the premises sending confirmed alarms. No amount of customer training or instruction will help some users, there not interested. Prox tags have definitely helped to reduce FA's, most issues I get on the phone are from customers that still have codes.
  4. Terry's Chocolate Orange?
  5. Doesn't SIA Techmaster have one in the downloads section?
  6. 12 hours standby, so Quiescent.
  7. Mains could have surged when they put the power back on.
  8. 75%? 12 hours standby with an activation.
  9. Most will do this but there are downfalls. As mentioned it's easy to steal the card or camera. Also the flash memory (SD card) will get worn eventually, flash isn't good for continuous 'write' tasks. Wear levelling has increased the life of flash cards/sticks but still not really designed for this.
  10. So ... swap the batteries over to check it's the controls?
  11. That is what's suppose to happen...
  12. All to do with the system current. You will find one external sounder and all your devices will be pushing the limit of the standby time, depending on the battery. If using two EWD's I would normally but both in SCB, Low Current modes. Elite has replaced the Premier, yes.
  13. Most of our new signalling systems lately have been keys only.
  14. If that circuit is not Omit Allowed (this is possible) it has not been programmed correctly initially. IIRC to omit you enter your code followed by X this will then ask you if you want to Omit a Zone number.
  15. Yes But if you have been pressing buttons in there you could have put the RFX into programming mode. This may stop the tamper from clearing. Not a good idea to be playing in there when your not sure what you are doing. You may have deleted any number of your wireless devices from the RFX. You could have just omitted Zone 11 from the keypad and still had a working system, I believe you will now need an engineer.
  16. http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/forum/268-uk-security-installers-by-regional-police-force/ http://www.nsi.org.uk/directory/ https://ssaib.org/security-provider-search/ If you have changed the batteries before with no issues, then I doubt it will be on engineer reset then. Can you clarify exactly what you tried to do, because it doesn't sound like you are trying to omit it like I suggested.

  18. It's a shock sensor so I assume you have tried rattling the windows and then checking which number? Omit it using the instructions from the user manual. This is an engineering function but that probably isn't the way to go about this. Yes, if there is an engineer reset for tamper you may need and engineer to reset it before you can use the system again. If you have company looking after it you should check with them for doing anything. It sounds like a hybrid system maybe a 9751? Anyway if the system hasn't been serviced for a while I suggest you get this done and have them check out the device in question. It could be the battery, it could be faulty, bird strikes, water ingress, a number of issues really but a service on the system is the first step IMO.
  19. A bit vague but you have to watch the film to understand the reference.
  20. This is a skill new engineers are loosing with wireless becoming more popular. It depends what the constructions is, if possible I would drill up through the lintel and aim for the void above, this leaves no holes to fill. Alternatively, Plan B, useful for drylined walls is as norm, leaving a couple of holes to fill or cover with something. Then Plan C would be chase and fill, I have an old 4.5mm HSS bit I use for that, 8 core fits in this slot very snug. I have a long 6mm drill for "Plan B" that slots through the holes in the galv edging strip, if you aim right.
  21. Hang on we are comparing two different things here. Signalling and response to signalling are completely different. A dialler can be equally susceptible to response issues as a monitored path.

  23. Useful if ripped off the wall and dunked in a nearby water butt...
  24. Replace the cable. R8's don't have LCD keypads either, if it was a Premier a smartkey could be an option.
