  2. We are good like that here.
  3. CIE Fault is basically the control panel "crashing" and will require a power cycle to clear normally. You will also notice the time resets as well. With faults like this it is best to isolate one thing at a time to diagnose the issue. Personally I would start by ruling out if it is the comms that is causing the issue in the first place. FWIW all the CIE faults I have had in the past have been mains related, mains spikes, prepay meters/MCBs tripping out, noisy equipment on same CU. Does the timing of the issue relate to any changes or new equipment?
  4. @OP Do bear in mind the Swann person you spoke to on the phone was part of there "sales team" so his initial interest is pushing his cheap DIY gear, not the Data Protection Act.
  5. Montex, I never thought of that. More like setting up your own ARC, I wouldn't call that private reporting personally. Interesting to hear about the push notifications, will this become the new IP speech dialler; time will tell. Do you know if it will require new hardware yet?
  6. It doesn't currently do private reporting AFAIK.

  11. Yes, if you know how to wire them correctly and you don't overload the panel, as I explained in post 2
  12. Generally wired will have "comfort" LED's and wireless will not (to extend battery life). So if you see a wired bellbox with no LED's that would probably mean the system is dead.
  13. No part of the system can indicate if the system is armed or not. There can be a system has armed indication but this must only be shown briefly (90 seconds IIRC). So flashing strobe three times on armed for example is ok.
  14. Pot, kettle ...
  15. I think there pants. Basically an adjustment for the PIR's sensitivity.
  16. Same here for our preferred product, I don't see why I am being "mental". Just like you don't do Scantronic we don't do Risk-o, the Rokonet detector was the nail in the coffin years ago.
  17. I wouldn't agree, but to each there own.
  18. Most good quality quads have background temperature compensation, without having to switch to microwave only. Like http://www.optex-europe.com/products/optex/44-oml-dam/
  19. My opinion is if they have got into the premises to use an umbrella or cloak then the protection isn't correct. Masking could be done days before a break in so AM is important here.
  20. The brand ACT, however, I haven't seen any other "Anti-Cloaking" detectors. Why do you feel you need anti-cloaking detectors?
  21. "ACT" is a Rokonet only feature.
  22. Two live boxes could have been too much current and blown something. Most panels need additional PSU's or SCB mode for multiple sounders.
  23. Assuming requirements are met, that is.
