The more this thread goes on the more I feel this is someone looking for information on defeating a system. If you were the genuine homeowner, confident with some DIY; you would have put some ear defenders on and pulled it apart already.

I said "generally". A engineers hold off is possible but non-standard and would be separate from any engineers mode like the OP is asking.

Generally this is correct you can't open a siren without triggering it, but it will all depend on the system and it's condition tho. Faulty, poorly installed or wireless may react different. Engineers mode would disable internal warning devices on tamper, however wired bells (SAB) are self activating, it's in the name.

One major difference between a proper system and a DIY system is there is no easy way to defeat them or decommission without making a racket... There is a second hand market for most things. I would suggest you reconsider carefully, removing a working system to replace for DIY is false economy.

Most likely. System will tamper when the voltage becomes very low but would have to check log as well. As pointed out the log will be vague on something so basic. Check the charging rate and replace battery would be sensible.

Maybe it's possible older versions of software didn't support it. Rarely seen a 690 mostly fitted 790+ upwards. You'll find it can be mounted inside the keypad upside down... You'd need a working one to test. They usually beep/click at any tag programmed or not, but they are fussy and don't have a good range.

It's been a while but IIRC, TS690 was a domestic panel separate from the rest of the Network range. Usually + denoted DD243/Prox tags (ie TS900+) but I believe the TS690 did support tags (or at least I remember a version that did), as it replaced the TS700. Did you have tags before? Have you installed the reader correctly? Was it powered down when you installed it? How are you learning the tags? Are the tags or reader duff? OOI how much was this museum find of a keypad?

Not fitted many Powermaster's but I don't believe they have the voice feature any more. The beeping for part set should be in the options.

It's default settings are to be internal only for part set. The sounder you speak of is likely wired from the bell terminals so neither are being triggered on part set.

I have said before it doesn't surprise me. There are currently 666 records on NVD related to Hikvision, most of these will be historical or duplicates for different products but how many DVR/NVR/IPC's do people go back to and update or replace? Every patch if you look back just seem like a reactive quick fix, some not so quick... It maybe better than DIY junk that's exploitable OOTB but they are suppose to be the market leader... cheap sells...

If you are not sure where you start you probably shouldn't DIY. It will involve working at height, deafening noises and the possibility of electrocution. There is no magic button or code to disable them, in fully working order they are designed to be tamper proof, triggering the sounders if you mess about. If you are certain you won't want an alarm going forward have someone to decommission it or consider having them look at it regarding servicing or upgrading. They do need regular maintenance to work properly so also consider that if you keep it.

Optex good sensors. Check about with your local council about planning permission if they enable a backlit box, they are technically an illuminated sign an require planning if they have a logo. It's not something people are aware about, even many installers. Light can be disabled if they will do that.
