Another option is committing to replacing the system for something more open. You would have to replace everything tho so it's going to cost either way. ADT Visonic run on a different frequency so if you have any faults your going to need them at that point anyway.

There is a battery in the control panel this is something that requires periodic checking and replacement. Isolating the voltage either from the terminals in the panel, or you can remove the mains and battery but that should trigger the outside sounder if the system works correctly. You could as you say just swap it live and make sure they don't touch but that risk is up to you. If your doing work in the house I would personally recommend wiring with proper alarm cable to sensor positions over a wireless system.

If it's that old I be thinking of replacing more than just one grotty PIR. They are old and basic don't have any engineer modes so it's just isolate the voltage so you don't blow stuff and either disable or silence the tamper as they occur.

I'd agree

At a 0.25A rating (assuming that is correct value for where it came from) it will be probably be the mains supply fuse. From the events you have mentioned over the thread it's possible:- cutting through the hedge trimmer flex caused some transient on your mains popping the fuse, this allowed the battery to drain out until it failed in the early hours. Best solution to stop that in the future is petrol or electric hedge trimmers, depending on what type and how much hedge you cut. Much safer and like most cordless stuff now you'd never go back to corded afterwards.

Your welcome... You are unlikely to have someone come out to your broken unmaintained system out of office hours without a service contract, no matter how close. It's possible you where put through to a call centre and as no valid contract was found the call not actioned. It would be a similar situation as to most service or breakdown companies, it costs to employ people to cover out of hours 24/7. It's still not clear until now as to if you want someone to fix it or if your trying yourself hence my post. Seems an odd chain of events taken to tackle the problem in this way is all, hence my use of "random". As I said in my first post it's something I wouldn't think twice about upgrading in that situation. We have an array of people come here for advice all of completely different skill sets. You had not given any indication of your electronic competence until now. I think you've got your own alarm problems to sort before worrying about other people and where they're poking things for a living. I assume you worked out what blew the fuse in the first place? This is the first time you have mentioned it's actually a wireless system too I believe? This is the part of your post that answered my question. I am sure we can help further now. Looking for a company you should check out NSI and SSAIB websites as mentioned above, if you don't know of any peer recommended local installers. Speak with them and ask what they include as part of the annual maintenance, as prices and what's included will differ between places. Worth mentioning that it's a wireless/hybrid system, I also wouldn't be surprised any potential future installers won't support that system or recommend an upgrade. Your likely to have issues with the keypad again anyway if you replace it. Seeking help to do what as I say above. We are happy to help point you in the direction whatever you finally decide that is the goal of this forum. In the many years being here I have never known anybody commit to "fix it" themselves but still want a company in for an annual maintenance contract. Either way as above crack on and feel free to ask specifics if you require.

On contract or recently cancelled with ADT? I would try them first if so. https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/43788-pm360r-unmonitored-adt-clear-trouble-communication-error

Called a random company, followed by the installer and then emailed Risco? I think you need to decide if you actually want the alarm first and then from there decide if you are capable of DIY or not. From the above buying batteries, taking the keypad apart, poking things with a meter and then calling installers, I don't think you have made up your mind yet.

The LCD screen is a common failure of the Gardtec panels. It sounds like you have not had the system serviced in a while for the battery to be faulty. I would suggest it's due an upgrade, although you may be able to find keypads of varying quality on places like ebay.

Visonic alarm wire dettached and cpu low battery

Looks like the horrible string filled cheap extension cable so you may struggle to extent it. Looks ok for length to me, the connectors pull off if required. -

Terminals normally marked as "LINE" left most blue pair in the image? Question is why the line was disconnected and who it's going to call when you mess with it. -

Assuming the red and green are the phone line then they go in the "line" connections. Battery pack is under the flap may need charging by the panel for a while or replacing. -

Either the aux fuse is blown or the panel is blown. -

Better quality that wouldn't have cheap as it's selling point meaning you wouldn't have to bodge. -
honeywell tamper issue
sixwheeledbeast replied to Sharon L Maderson's topic in !!..DIY Installers..!!
An Accenta is a budget system so you get what you pay for. This is irrelevant to the advice for having the system serviced. If you don't have some technical knowledge you are not going to be able to locate the tamper in the first place, the tamper fault could be any component in the system. While your fix may work, possibly better than the original design, it looks pants. There is no way you can justify this type of fix for a paying customer. Any installer would rip the panel out and fit something decent if it was there own system. -
Can you identify this Texecom model?
sixwheeledbeast replied to Stellarat's topic in !!..DIY Installers..!!
I think you lost a few years somewhere Pre-2000 model (year 2000), has different programming and PCB layout than the current version. -
Customers cars will go faster if they get a message from the ARC saying they have an activation.

You can enjoy your job but disagree with the direction of the company. Some people would argue they need the job so have no choice in the matter. I suppose I am thinking more generally outside of the industry there tho. Will be interesting to see what action happens, taxman will want the money back somehow and rightly so.

Hello and Welcome. Keep in mind the majority of the content on this site is UK based and products are very different this side of the pond.

How do i program this panel
sixwheeledbeast replied to Imnotshankled's topic in General Security & Fire Queries
If you get all the Inergen bottles in and pipework set up it maybe worth programming... -
It's the bell that needs the cut off timer, it just became standard that all equipment would have the timer built in for reducing noise pollution. Even if the panel continues to provide a bell trigger output the bell would ignore it until removed and reapplied. Unless there is some rearm function as part of this then I'd still say leave it alone myself. It's part of our guidelines not to provide engineers manuals here, not only from a security perspective but copyright issues. What other sites distribute is up to them.
