If they are Exodus smokes on a Texecom Premier system I would consider a replacement for Aico low voltage. This is unless the site warrants a "proper" fire alarm system installing which maybe what the alarm company are alluding too. It's possible the devices are contaminated and need replacing, I'd expect them to be replaced periodically as part of maintenance if on brigade every 5 years. Also possible they are the wrong type of detection, the generic Exodus "blue" multisensor isn't suitable in kitchens and orangery's IMO. Beams are an option but they would have to be compatible with an intruder alarm, kit like fire beams are designed for a fire alarm as referenced above. TBH I would have at least made the system KH only and replaced the heads in the time being until you resolve the issue. Sounds like so far you have had people come and look but do little in reactive response. Either way your in the hands of the alarm company really.

Yep wireless only tho. They are labelled up as a Grade 2 item funnily enough. There's also a stand alone receiver module so you can stick em on any controls.

I don't fit Galaxy but would be surprised if they dropped the 2-20. Control panels are very rarely faulty from experience, you need to rule out external factors as throwing a panel at it is relatively expensive and will piss the customer off if it's something else. There could be something shorting to ground and dragging the system down, or maybe even the battery is faulty but appears ok if you test it. Not an exhaustive list of what it could be tho.

Depending on the system I much prefer the Aico low voltage option now. I would consider for it to be an auxiliary/ancillary it should have some way to function on it's own, which is not the case with your standard 12v smoke. I would argue that the fire detector being considered ancillary is not a good idea, ancillary by definition makes it less important than the system it's ancillary to.

Fire alarm systems need to conform to BS5839 which intruder alarm systems on there own aren't designed for. A graded intruder system is only graded by it's lowest grade component if you have no signalling it's impossible to be G3 even with all Grade 3 components

I have no idea what a Texecom Galaxy is. As for Texecom Elite you should leave it alone unless you need a specific feature. However to answer the question all Elite hardware can be flash updated with the flasher board and Wintex, there are the odd minor feature that are unavailable on older Elite hardware.

I personally think all ISPs should provide a modem only service, would be much simpler to verify whose equipment is faulty and reduce electrical waste at the same time. If people want a router they can go and get whatever router they wish (basic or pro) and not have it locked down to ISP provided settings TR-069/Homesafe/Public Wifi/DNS rubbish. Can't see it happening any time soon with the mentality of the general public that the ISP should provide free tat routers, but you get what you pay for. If the ISP want to provide a Wifi Mesh or router package they could have that as a separate charge. Think it's a win all round TBH.

Com Fault would likely just be a generic term for the panel can no longer poll the cloud/server. Is the Wifi stable and strong in that area? Is the internet stable? They would be the first checks If you can see the uptime in your router GUI and you can see the times match the drop out you are looking at a service issue not the panel or cloud for example.

I don't fit Hik so no idea. Dantech have a wide but very slim one for upto 8 cam jobs There's also Elmdene Easyfit or other one's that look like a slim IP box as options. Butcher a normal JB with some cheap plastic mount?

Most eyeball cameras have optional conduit backboxes or rings? A boxed PSU? What's up with a normal JB or the Dantech one. Would have to get graded to be useful.

Handy for when you need to use conduit. I always prefer to lose the wiring in the cavity where feasible, less chance of some muppet smashing your work up with a FLT. Most use Dantech for CCTV PSU's

Ah yes Elmdene Setswitch are the ones I remember fitting, rarely used them TBH but handy to have none the less.

Arnie surface had an option for a buzzer much bulkier that that I recall.

Some detectors allow you to wire in 0.25W resistors across the terminals of the device, others have jumper selectors, depends on the make and model. Lots of options but just make sure they are compatible with your panel.

I am sure it's something that could be resolved by a competent engineer that knows Eurosec. I wouldn't be surprised if you are recommended a more modern panel by most engineers who come and have a look.

As you say there was complacency on both sides there. It could have been that the circuit was switched off but not properly isolated and someone else has switched it on. When you see an un-terminated cable you expect it to be dead especially if someone has told you it should be dead. As people that work with electrics regularly know it's your responsibility to always check for dead ideally with a voltage tester, it's always when you get complacent that these incidents happen.

Inductance is measured over a conductors parallel length, this is why you may cross cables perpendicularly but they must have separation/segregation when parallel.

I would fit Quads minimum in the house and DT in the Garage. I rate Optex myself

From what I remember it was just for the Ultimate to get 2x iD BUS lines.
