  1. From my experience of these types of events, it would be up to the insurance company to investigate and compile a report. The insurance or normally a loss adjuster will compile evidence to determine want happened and why no response was made by the police or ARC. If the panel has been powered down and stored since the break in then the system log would be intact and could be interrogated with master user or engineer access. This is something you need to liaise with the original maintainer and insurance about before proceeding any further.
  2. You are best to factory default and start the programming again if you didn't take a backup before flashing. You have to get the panel software to generate the UID which wasn't available on pre SmartCom panels.
  3. It's very unlikely to be the panel, even if one is I certainly wouldn't expect to have multiple, I don't recall ever having a faulty Veritas panel. You need to work on further diagnoses on each panel, these faults are not "untraceable" even with a basic panel with minimal log you can work it out. Considering the timing of your post I am thinking detection equipment and/or positioning of it.
  4. I assume you followed all the details here? https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/40034-forum-trade-application/
  5. If your taking over a BS system then maintain the system to BS? Good luck swapping them out if they are all on the same four core cable. Seen this in a few houses
  6. Aritech GS Inertia? Not sure if they have been Graded for EN, part of GE UTC now. https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/intruder-alarm-c-36/vibration-detectors-c-36_56/aritech-inertia-shock-sensor-white-p-2144.html gs610_gs611_prd.pdf
  7. RX40 all day
  8. Get some quotes for an upgrade?
  9. Engineer code can be locked which would make the controls scrap if engineer code cannot be accessed. Defaulting a system that is locked will leave you with a non operating system without engineer access. Tamper event would be internals only unless armed.
  10. Surely a small POE switch on the working cable is the first solution?
  11. Depends if powering the device midspan or endspan, also will only be upto 100BASE. Also wattage of the camera needs to be considered.
  12. It's alright throwing a new battery in but did you check the charging rate, flexible connections, bell hold off, sensors operation etc etc. Much more to an engineer service than a new battery. A standard SLA battery has a life expectancy of 4-5 years. There are not instructions because it expected to be done by a competent person, there are mains voltages in there remember.
  13. So trigger the GJD kit manually and work out what is at fault?
  14. Zones, Areas and Part sets are all different things
  15. Disconnect the Bell Trig while your messing about would be a good idea. Yes "Auto Yes" can do that for Standard Users.
  16. Helps when you read the manual.
  17. You giggle, but I imagine it would sell on fleabay. Easy for a DIYer to swap colour for colour to get a system working again.
  18. Pretty handy, mine lives in my tub of One Strike.
  19. I found specific testers much easier to use on site have a BBV and a Ranger.
  20. Resoldering the leads on the lens plug as they where and different pinout. ..and which muppet bought CS lenses for these C cameras..
  21. Ah the good old days, diagnosing intermittent issues up a pole in the rain, measuring for peak and sync on cameras that actually had pots to adjust them.
  22. Bell delay for E/E timeout? For some reason called "Dual Ply" delay on Scanny.
  23. No, paper programming manuals do not come with any commercial grade panel. You maybe lucky and get a CD with the controls. Also the manual is revised regularly due to updates in both hardware and software, so your old manual while helpful may not cover everything.
  24. This video covers the issue with our "need" for IoT going forward, which is mostly consumer led. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLiE0Nr8VOE A must watch for anyone interested in apps for there home devices. Apply the topic of cars and planes from the video to your security systems and consider the consequences, both from a installer and user perspective.
