  1. I can confirm this manual is available for trade members only. We also encourage any manuals or manuals requests be posted in the Downloads section of the site where there is version control, search and filter features.
  2. Maybe expand on how you are trying to program them and what happens when you do?
  3. Probably TAP server? If so not worth setting up IMO.
  4. I would say that's fair use, he is a happy chap after all.
  5. Any Ricochet "panel" is technically hybrid, it just depends how many wired zones you need and where.
  6. With a professional installation the manufacturer is irrelevant as companies generally use the kit they're trained on and you are guided by their advise. Reliability is more down to the system being serviced regularly, wouldn't matter if that's wired, wireless or hybrid.
  7. Just leave it in the battery tray for the next engineer to deal with...?
  8. Have trust in an app and your panel being connected to the internet but not in wireless? Have you definitely decided you are going to DIY your system? If the system is operational and in good order, a company could likely take it over stick some radio PA's on and install proper monitoring.
  9. The ARC recorded this as an Open due to being sent an Open signal. The operator/ARC stood down the confirmed due to receiving an open with restores to the other signals. I don't know the panel well but if it's volatile memory with a coin battery like someone mentioned above then your not going to get any information from it.
  10. Under cutting to get business only leaves you open to someone doing the same down the road. Customers that want a good job by a skilled tradesmen are out there but you won't find many by under cutting and taking over other peoples tat.
  11. Using someone you have no trust in to install your alarm system seems a bit odd. Trusting the control of your alarm system to an app is an equal or greater vulnerability if you think about it. You seem to point a lot of blame towards the installer but this is how this manufacturer have there cloud system setup. There is no invasion of privacy, I assume you required the app and these are the terms of it. I think the above few posts cover how you can go forward. If that be with app or without, installer or not.
  12. It's all in the firmware and knowing what your doing ... Pre-2K panels have different programming. Sorry we do not provide programming manuals or defaulting information here as per our guidelines. https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/guidelines/ I also don't have a User manual for a Pre-2K. So you may just have to explain what your problem is.
  13. Nothing is impossible if you have the determination to do it. Every business has to start from somewhere. Expecting to start from scratch is a huge ask, I assume you have in the pipeline enough regular work to keep you busy for the future? I also expect you have enough experience being employed in the industry to understand it's workings from both an installer and administration side?
  14. Fitted plenty of these before them in the day. Isn't modern technology great, I recall running through rolls of fax paper a week in spam, now it can be deleted automatically.
  15. Approved. Cheers for putting it in the Downloads Section. Possibly but back then there was no nerdy alarm geek forum to ask on either.
  16. Dualcom GPRS G2 on pins? If Police where called then ARC did there job.
  17. Where is this log information from? Unless the system is sending extended formats you wouldn't see additional sensors activating on the ARC report anyway. From the diagram I would assume a lot of the system is on the entry route. Would help to see the specification of the system to make an opinion, signalling type and grade would also be on the specification.
  18. I would make the customer aware that the system is obsolete on each visit or service but if the system is fully operational its up to them. If not fully operational its time to speak to the customer about options. Would only condemn something if it is no longer fit for purpose or unsafe and for that reason I would take the system out of service there and then not condemn it.
  19. From my experience of these types of events, it would be up to the insurance company to investigate and compile a report. The insurance or normally a loss adjuster will compile evidence to determine want happened and why no response was made by the police or ARC. If the panel has been powered down and stored since the break in then the system log would be intact and could be interrogated with master user or engineer access. This is something you need to liaise with the original maintainer and insurance about before proceeding any further.
  20. You are best to factory default and start the programming again if you didn't take a backup before flashing. You have to get the panel software to generate the UID which wasn't available on pre SmartCom panels.
  21. It's very unlikely to be the panel, even if one is I certainly wouldn't expect to have multiple, I don't recall ever having a faulty Veritas panel. You need to work on further diagnoses on each panel, these faults are not "untraceable" even with a basic panel with minimal log you can work it out. Considering the timing of your post I am thinking detection equipment and/or positioning of it.
  22. I assume you followed all the details here? https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/40034-forum-trade-application/
  23. If your taking over a BS system then maintain the system to BS? Good luck swapping them out if they are all on the same four core cable. Seen this in a few houses
  24. Aritech GS Inertia? Not sure if they have been Graded for EN, part of GE UTC now. https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/intruder-alarm-c-36/vibration-detectors-c-36_56/aritech-inertia-shock-sensor-white-p-2144.html gs610_gs611_prd.pdf
