  2. It's likely the old one will remain. The new Connect hardware will need Texecom Connect app.
  3. It's the right choice. You would be liable if you made the decision to DIY or get someone out.
  4. If your using EOL/DEOL/TEOL the EOL resistor should be at the furthest point in the wiring, anything else is just abusing the whole point of EOL in the first place. DP would be more secure than EOL if wired like the diagram shown above.
  5. When you say can't get it to work, I assume that to mean it works stand alone but can't connect it to an NVR? Never heard of Foscam, quick look at the manual looks like tat. I assume it's set to "Server Push Mode"?
  6. Marvellous, lets hope the intermediate wire isn't crushed or shorted, which would read as a permanent secure zone at the panel. Well done Pyronix for having this bodge documented.

  8. It's an alarm! What's to get with the times, as long as it's serviced, is functional and suits the customers needs, I don't see a problem.
  9. Texecom also support multiple shunts up to three devices.
  10. What's wrong with the panel if it works? Stick a new NiCd pack in the old bell job done, if the bell is operational. As for fitting the new, you seem to have worked it out, red and white are connected to the same place so the same thing. Engineer hold off wasn't really around when the 700L was made, so do with it what you want. If your not sure, try wiring it up on a short wire adj panel before messing about up a ladder all day.
  11. Point being a speech dialler is designed to be a speech dialler where as the COM2400 is designed to be a digicom/modem. You require a speech dialler I assume, and while a combination of the correct panel, digi and speech module will do the job it's still not a stand alone speech dialler. The pro's and con's of each method are laid out, it's time to decide which direction is best for your application.
  12. Certainly sounds like wireless sensor battery saving to me, where they sleep after being triggered.
  13. They are SMA connectors. I have used SMA to F type connectors in the past to utilise existing loft bound coaxial. Obviously you need to end up with male/female to make an extension lead.
  14. Speech Module 2 is only compatible with the later Elite "Hardware" and COM2400 combination. If you don't have this you will not be able to acknowledge calls as there is no DTMF chip on the main board. Only two telephone numbers are available per ARC setup, to have six numbers you would have to assign all ARC's to the same device. I have never tried this configuration with the Speech module but you will end up with three primary numbers and three secondary which isn't ideal. A speech dialler in contrast would have 8 numbers that can have repeat options set individually and in order.
  15. Exactly. I don't think free apps will disappear, you will just loose functionality. I prefer to stick to products that allow me to control all functionality. You can't ever rely on a cloud service that in it's T&C's has permission to move it's goal posts whenever it feels.
  16. T-Bar aerials normally have a indicator for ground, which should point down to the ground. You can try different aerials but you have to be careful you don't create more issues. For example, you could use a longer aerial (or extension) to get to an area of better coverage, however, the longer cable could decrease the benefits from that.
  17. Increasing the ATS Fault delay would only mask an issue. The aerial could do with mounting correctly, making sure it's the right way round. The unit should be powered down from the COM port if you remove the SIM for whatever reason, which I believe you did? The third light flashing indicates you have marginal signal so I would assume it's just a case of poor signal. Try resiting the aerial or switching networks until your signal is good, solid light.
  18. But if the lines cut you'd get neither message anyway. Trying to send a TAP message and using a speech dialler on the same line and the same time is asking for hassle. Well TAP is hassle full stop anyway TBH.

  20. Sounds like the landlord needs to get someone out to either service it or decommission it. If your a tenant it's not your call on having it removed etc.
  21. I fail to see the point of fitting a pointless piece of plastic you have to remove on each service anyway. Wouldn't bother with the screw caps either, I have seen them rounded off and jammed in before now, although this would be on the Veritas case not the Prem. Plastic caps and similar covers are just asking for screwdriver rash from numpty engineers and offer minimal aesthetics for there existence IMO.
  22. GJD Multispeech should do what you require. Drives a 8 Ohm speaker from NO or triggered inputs. No SD card it's stored on the board.

  25. Exactly, just like I said in my first post. It's good to have knowledge of the basics, so start small but also consider tech moves on. Back when Logic 4's where designed a office desktop computer had less power than a SBC's you can buy now. A RPi3 is about £30, wouldn't like to guess what a P5 Pentium system or the like would have cost. The other benefit is if you get bored of the project you can easily repurpose the SBC for the next project. If you are really interested in making up some circuits maybe try some basic timer circuits to start, 555 timers are normally good to cut your teeth on. They are very easy to build a working project and if wired in the different modes, give good understanding of RC networks, transistors and logic level. This is assuming you are starting from minimal electronics knowledge of course.
