Can you not fit another flush? You can get tiny ones like fc503that work well in aluminium doors. Surface looks gash IMO. https://www.cqr.co.uk/contacts/flush-contact/

I always charge hourly for remedial work if the damage is down to other trades that I dont normally work with, but this is gone through explicitly with the client at the quotation stage. There are a couple of building companies who I work with quite frequently, and if its something one of their guys has damaged i tell them what needs to be rerun and their sparky deals with it and I dont charge, almost never happens with those guys though, usually its because the client has changed there mind on where stuff is going, and the cables end up too short. On the flip side I am ultra careful, and I have drummed into my guys repeatedly to be extremely careful around other trades work. A lot of the things that happen are down to careless cunts with a dont give a **** attitude.

Sorry mate you'll need to translate that last bit into jockanese for me please.
-
Do you think clicking the little red button next to my posts has any impact on my happiness at all ya daft wee fud? I'm not seeking acceptance in this herd of alarm geeks i'm just here for the craic. Whatevever floats your boat.
-
Aye your right standards count for **** all. I picked up a job next week to install a new boiler system at a nursing home how hard can it be? I 'll ask for some advice on diynot if I get stuck on what all the pipey bits do.
-
I'm not looking for a petty argument. I told you exactly what your solution was. I'm not going to hide my distaste for chancers that bid for work they haven't bothered to train for though, it makes a mockery of the industry. And I'll shut up when I'm ready to.

Have you tried ivms 4500, call preset 95?
-
Was the client aware that "you havent touched anything with multiple DVRs before and that you like to take on challenges and learn onsite where you can" before awarding a big contract or did they think they were getting someone suitably qualified and experienced?
-
If its from a national more than likely the headline price of the alarm was nowhere near its true price, and its on monthly payment for the next couple of years. Or it one of those shitty le sucre things.
-
It'll most likely be analogue/tvi dvrs, feeding into a central ivms or hardware decoder. The cameras will need to be added manually for each camera. Its quite straightforward and hik offer free training courses.

Thats how I thought it read as well. Op was putting pressure on an installer to put his livelihood at risk, all for 1 door contact, it didn't work out so lets fish about on the alarmgeek hangout. OP if you wanted to diy why not buy a diy alarm, or either one of the more common pro panels but diy it with help from others so you can be in full control?

Nah just wondering as thats the kind of thing a first year apprentice knows, seems a bit blaggerish to take on sites when you don't know how to work on the kit, that contract could have went to someone who actually knows what they are doing but hey thats just me. Its likely either a pc running ivms or they have fitted a 32ch nvr or decoder and added are using it as a matrix.
-
Did you not check before taking on the contract that you were suitably qualified and experienced to maintain the equipment?
-
You know i meant the original installer numbnuts. If he readily gives out his companys engineer code to randoms how can you trust him to not sell your user code to a junkie?
-
Do you want someone easily and inexpensively corruptable installing your security?

New cctv install and advice on Brand /Product
petrolhead replied to CARETAKER46's topic in !!..DIY Installers..!!
If its genuine. Purple labels are pennies. -
And what was your solution?
-
Engineer tests, test pgm should do it.

Have you confirmed all arcs, not just the first one, are set to disabled?
-
It wont be wifi interference
-
Adi for my sins. Mind you cant fault them recently since I stopped using my branch and going through key accounts, smooth sailing now and my account manager sorts out any niggles for me immediately. **** sorry Imran thought you were talking to me for a mo.

No one is trying to trap you just curious was all as it is an odd combo nothing sinister in the question just chill out its friday. Deffo signalling. Bt router with smart setup enabled? The fact you get as far as protocol suggests that arc is enabled, if arc was disabled that menu layer shouldn't be present. Retrys will probably be set to 3 with duration of 45s hence the 3 comms fails within 5 mins.
-
Last i checked i didnt see enforcer panel available as a seperate part you had to buy a kit and split it has that changed? From my supplier a euro46v10 with keypad and wifi card is a lot cheaper than an enforcer app kit hence my confusion.
-
Did you check arc settings? I bet its trying to send a set signal somewhere and failing.
-
Neither is a diy panel. Doesnt stop arseholes selling them to diyers though.
