  1. Your website doesn't contain enough rambling bs for my requirements. I'm oot.
  2. If you haven't bought it yet i would get the x not the plus.
  3. Surely set the gateway for site 2 as site 1s router and set up some forwarding rules with different ports for site 2?
  4. Fixed ip sims are not cheap and have low data limits, expect to pay £70+ a month with a long contract for useful amounts of data.
  5. The aico 12v detectors i use, ei186, have a 9v battery and an internal sounder. When not connected to a panel they are essentially a standalone detector but with the added features of a relay output and 12/24v supply to increase battery life plus they are interconnectable. Those ones you have your cake and eat it. other option is fit a load of mains/battery interconnected devices and fit a relay pattress base to the one closest to the panel and interface that way.
  6. You told me you were wearing appropriate ppe.
  7. Smells like ***** but tastes of cheese, strange pork this.
  8. Gonorrhealy Modified the modification is it smells a bit funny now.
  9. It is a bit. It does poll the cloud regularly, but no notifications of polling fails.
  10. What does ectasymother****ers have to do with relays anyway?
  11. Dont **** about with the mains to the roller shutter, the roller shutter should have a stop input for a safety beam. If it doesn't have a stop input for a safety beam its a dangerous pile of ***** that you dont want to get involved in anyway, machinery directive means prison time and an anus like a yawning hippopotamus's mouth when it goes wrong.
  12. Your unbelievable.
  13. Is it possibly something like a castle euro 46 incorrectly programmed as area set when it should be level set, when you put your code in it sets both area a and b instead of area a or b and when its activated it signals twice, once for each area even though it is the same zone triggered. Either that or confirmation groups set up wrong on the panel.
  14. Better than fine
  15. Cctv wholesales were doing wee cheapy nvrs that they said work well as spot decoders.
  16. Surely one of your team of experienced cctv specialists who do insurance approved installations would be best placed to explain this stuff to you face to face?
  17. Nope needs to be euro46 app version. You lose intelligent set too.
  18. Bosch bluelines are my favourite. Whatever you fit follow the manufacturers guidelines on placement, and fit them level, not aimed up or down. at 20 years i'd strongly recommend a new panel and bellbox and properly testing all the cables too. All the capacitors in the panel and bell will be going high esr by now.
  19. have you changed the battery in the meter? Some chinktat ones go nuts with a low battery.
  20. You are out of your depth with a fault that could potentially burn your house down while you are asleep. Get a pro in. Sorry if the truth isn't palatable. some things are diy friendly, tracing an overcurrent without solid electrical knowledge is not imo.
  21. I was only joking about the long thread. whoosh.
  22. is the purpose of your course not to do the work for yourself so you figure it out and have a eureka moment instead of a copy and paste moment? Are you already working in the industry you mentioned a service call in another post? Is there no one at your company teaching you? Or is Caveo your own company? If it is you might want to proofread your website, that's not how you spell maintenance. I don't know what your course expects as an answer but I'd start in panel diagnostics and see what the panel thinks it is seeing, disconnect the zone at the panel and measure resistance in sensor both in alarm and at rest, then remove any power from the detector and check for induced ac, then remove the wiring from the detector and check the wiring on its own by measuring open circuit and with a short on, then finally check the sensor itself, check the resistors are what they should be and check the contacts are switching cleanly and that the actual detector is operating as expected.
