  1. Send an email request to technical, Ask them to email you the firmware file for V10.02 There was also a later V11.00 from Jan 2012 that had additional changes implemented for PD6662:2010
  2. Just to add to this, I've also spoken to Ian at Texecom Support about this issue. He said he was aware of this problem and that they are aware that Maintex will only work via the IP Path. Seems a little odd that if is bandwidth issues that via Wintex is fine, but Maintex it fails.
  3. Thanks Jim, Over 3G, Wintex works perfectly. I can do a full data upload / download Over 3G, Maintex will establish a connection, but times out moments after. All are fine once the IP Path is enabled This is occurring on sites with SmartIP/3G Units
  4. I fully agree with you on the dial capture, That's the good advantage of the Digi-Air units Don't get me wrong, the Digi-Air is a good unit But for direct serial connections this suits better
  5. Not just for UDL, it's a 3G only unit out of the box. Suitable for domestic and low risk installations. Can be used just for UDL if required, as I'm informed, with virtually no annual recurring costs
  6. Can't wait give this a whirl, I have high expectations of it I had a good conversation with Paul a few weeks ago about it. Let's see how it goes, hopefully it will do what we need it to do. I really hope this works with Tex Premier and their remote service software (Maintex) The Smart units won't work unless there is a IP Path present, they fail over 3G Not sure where the issue lies, Texe software limitations or WebWay service? I look forward to testing it at our workshop soon.
  7. The beams wouldn't be external, they would be internal, across the opening
  8. An intruder wouldn't know what side it was on. If the shutter is under 6ft, it's extremely unlikely to lift it without activation unless it's been cut. That's why best practice would be to install two shutter contacts, one either side. It's all dependant on the risk assessment really, if the likelihood is that the door is vulnerable and could possibly be cut with a grinder or rammed open then this should be already picked up within your servey / risk assessment, hence an additional beam or other detection device to cover it
  9. I believe the dedicated input is fixed, not programmable, can't say I've tried otherwise. Using a spare zone, you could program as custom and select internal sounder only
  10. Connecting to a spare zone and programming for an alert will be fine, Once you've established everything is fine I would revert to the dedicated fault inputs adjacent to the bell terminals.
  11. This is exactly how it works with the self test feature
  12. Is this the one I need http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=171633012308
  13. Would be really appreciated mate, I will take you up on that offer please, I've already got all my recordings done from Fiverr by Peter Baker. I will come back to you next weekend to arrange this if that's ok, I'm currently away in Gran Canaria, not back until Sunday. Thanks for the additional info, I'm off to eBay now
  14. I've installed FreePBX a while back, but that's as far as it got. Never actually set up it configured anything on it as I had not got a clue how to at the time. I would like to get something sorted soon, better than what we have now. Currently using E-Receptionist Virtual Pbx, which does everything at the minute at around £50 a month until I want to expand Any suggestions welcomed
  15. 15 - 20 is not advised, Leave it for at least half hour, It will re-establish itself just fine. If you have Ricochet monitor and a laptop available, You will see the system live as its sorting itself out.. Learn all devices at home / office Go to site & Install it Enable commissioning mode Open all lids on devices Go have a long brew and tidy your van up for 30 mins After 30-35 minutes close all lids up Walk test to confirm detection is satisfactory Disable commissioning mode Program any other settings to design spec Save profile on laptop " If available" Do your paperwork, Collect your money... Job done
  16. Leave the lids off everything in commissioning mode,
  17. We never learn anything on-site, all done pre-install All of our Ricochet systems are pre-configured at the office to the design spec in advance Arrive on site, install it as usual, Pop it in commission mode for half hour or so, Walk test it and away you go. Sort your paperwork out and jobs a good one
  18. Its in the manual
  19. The Excel panel outputs are rated at 100mA, You would drive a small relay from this to give you a volt free contacts

    New Laptop

We've had Toughbook CF18's for around 8 years, But they've now been retired. I've moved onto the Panasonic Toughpad FZG1, Fantastic rugged weatherproof tablet, Ideal for field work
  22. Can anyone identify the this, Obviously its an AI-Phone and I believe its discontinued due to being hard to find on Google images I'm looking for a manual to reset the user codes and reprogram it Thanks
  23. Welcome mate... I must of missed the balloons ice cream
  24. Why you would get £20 commission for a lock swap baffles me Surely a lock would only be recommended if the job genuinely required it, I would hope. Why would it need you "or the engineer" pushing or recommending for it, hence getting commission ?? Sounds wrong, It makes it look like there is an incentive to push for things that would not need be replaced, just for the commission That's like saying every battery backup I swap, I will get £5 or £10 for.... If the job genuinely needed it, then the job must have it regardless.
