  1. Yes, and T2 if you want a tamper input. A possible problem is that these all appear as one zone, I don't know if South African standards would permit that.
  2. A few devices have had problems in the past, being able to change the mode provided a workaround. Usually you just learn on the device and leave the device mode which is selected by the device. Some people like to dabble with changing the mode which can improve battery life at the cost of reduced functionality.
  3. 1. Correct 2. Correct The correct Ricochet Device Mode will be selected when you learn the device onto the receiver.
  4. Too many variables to say. A contact on a door that gets used a lot doesn't last as long as one that's rarely used. Also the signal from one device can hop through other devices, which reduces the battery life of the device that is being hopped through, but a small system with few devices can also use batteries faster as the devices struggle to poll in to the receiver and try multiple times. Its safest to use the correct mode for each device and change all batteries every year.
  5. There is also "Always Awake". This mode should only be used on devices which are required to signal at all times and is the default setting for the Impaq Contact-W and Impaq Plus-W. Its all about getting the battery to last a bit longer. In fairness to Texecom, if you just learn on the device and leave the device settings alone each device automatically gets the correct settings.
  6. Coz that's what it says in the manual ?
  7. The mode for a QD-W should be Hybrid not Auto, Wait more than 3 minutes after arming the system before you walk past the PIR, the PIR will be asleep if it has been recently activated.
