  1. Did that once with a car alarm, did the trick...
  2. Hi, welcome to TSI - don't forget to read our forum rules
  3. Hi Greg, welcome to TSI, have to say though we are here to help in the public forums even if some of the posters might be a bit... trying.
  4. Hi Carl, welcome to TSI
  5. Can be arranged, just ask an Admin Elmdene Quartz - looks a bit different to the mainstream and well made
  6. If a more modern property you might find the top of the cavity is covered with cement or plastic making fishing wires a whole lot more fun
  7. Hi, when you say you are new to the industry, do you mean you are a security installer* working for yourself?
  8. No I agree it's like having a keypad that displays set status, except I think the advantages outweigh on a domestic, myself.
  9. But this is DIY and esp. if bells only a handy warning feature, no?
  10. If fitted to the rear you will lose the ability for the strobe to warn on approach of a prior intrusion, worth considering.
  11. Fitted a few, I forget does the Texe do it's own analysis?
  12. Always the sign of a rush job isn't it, bracketed PIRs sat in the middle of the ceiling. Used my 2nd one ever last month, moving an existing IR120.
  13. Yeah I'd say they are much better than an ion in terms of prog features, but just as moribund in terms of future - or so it seems
  14. Never really used them but feel like they're stuck in the late 90s to me
  15. Also to add to a dead post, dare I suggest that Gals are definitely not the favourites they once were?
  16. Duck lads, Gaz is just logging on...
  17. Hi and welcome - have you considered Texecom for your project, they appear to actively encourage HA devs?
  18. That must be one of the earliest 800s I've seen in the wild, they were a great panel in their day but frankly a 9651 would be a fitting, and budget, replacement giving you all the same features, assuming proper monitoring and no more than 8 zones are involved. Look at it this way op, how much time and money would you throw at a 1993 washing machine, TV or car?
  19. The supplied eol board is this one https://uk.spiap.com/products/intrusion/detecteurs_mouvements_lentille/carte_fin_de_ligne/aope01.htmlSW can (I think) supply the other one, a PE02 for not much more but thats only needed for Aritech in terms of 'common' UK panels AFAIK. As for the screw, I've been fitting the IR200 for years and you'd be surprised how small a gap you really need, its never been a technical or aesthetic issue, and it's actually less than you'd have the leave on the ir120, because despite the 'catflap' screw cover, the e-line is far less chunky at the too so wont foul the ceiling as it hinges into place.
  20. Chelsea vs Arsenal
  21. Certain bells, such as Texecom, will not sound at all if they get 3 strobe flashes before being opened, but otherwise this is default behaviour for obvious reasons and cannot be stopped Without seeing the size, assuming 7aH, I'd still :: that's one way of shortening the life of a brand new battery - if you know the power will be off for that long, just disconnect the system completely for the day, one of the few privileges of looking after your own system.
  22. Not seen Gaz for a while...
  23. Yes all over Bristol city centre at estimated 1 million or something crazy signage cost, plod have repeatedly and openly said wont be enforcing
