  1. I seriously messed up a travelodge TV by using the engineer code, hotel opened 2014 but all tvs using fake analogue and hdmi blocked. I got hdmi enabled but the rest of the setup was slightly screwed.
  2. Would you consider structured wiring to come under Part P then?
  3. What makes you think they are? Intruder that is.
  4. I would never, ever give my engineering code to a customer, but would happily reset the code to default on demand (chargeable as appropriate based on response required) or during a service if the customer didn't want us to visit again. Again, no decent co. will ever give out their own engineer codes, and would never agree to a 'shared code' on anything they are taking service or efficacy responsibility for. Your company should have defaulted the system at day 1.
  5. But Part P only covers... installations covered by Part P. And alarm systems are not covered by Part P.
  6. I bet he could get one for no quid with those keys to the warehouse...
  7. Not one worth having, though... It's possible the system has engineer reset, although very unlikely on most versions of these panels IMHO. Have you tried to see what happens in Walk test - this will not involve opening the case, setting off the tamper, or exposing yourself top dangerous voltages - do that and tell us if Zone 2 is 'jammed on'.
  8. TBH they are already going for a fair few quid on ebay, can't see prices rising just yet
  9. In any case I believe only System Q can or will reset a DVR engineer password on these models, and from my own experience will look to match the serial number with proof of pucrahse such as an invoice number.
  10. Yes, they seem massive compared to the Siemens e-Line I replaced them with. I highly recommend them.
  11. Yep threw a load of those [ORIGINAL POST PIC] way last month, false alarmed like crazy according to customer, who then didn't use the alarm for 5 years until now.
  12. Well, er MI5 did, but of course you saw the whole building being blown up at 3:02 by a Russian fighter jet. Just goes to show you can make it shorter but it won't help those with a short attention span!
  13. Have to say I only have the one Ricochet system but it's in a very challenging environment (both in terms of RF and environmental for the rDTs), and has been fine so far from a radio POV.
  14. I've heard all about your quick 'fixes' to get through he day... As above, I agree the system has probably had it's day but would clena before i start silver painting, have done this with scanny keypads.
  15. Probably never happen again, thats the irony.
