Latest V6 Eaton firmware is all about security, security, security, there must have been a major encryption change of some kind as all app users have to reregister, this has not happened with previous incremental updates.
Don't you start.
Ah brings it all back, the early days of eBay. It wasn't that unusual back then for people to send you stuff on trust.
You can still get POs but not sure about uncrossed ones. They are basically cheques drawn on a PO Counters account now.
^ what he said
And now, we present the first of a new programme here on TSI;
"All That Fibaro Stuff What You Cannot Buy As A Pleb"
https://www.uk-automation.co.uk/search.php?search_query=fibaro&Search=
If you go to Fibaro website they offer direct support to anyone so hardly installer only. UK office was closed down long before takeover and English (non-US) support is now from English speakers in Poland (e.g. the whole office probably)
As above Amazon are continuously getting new stock of Fibaro kit as it the uk.automation site, Amazon prices flutuate but can't believe trade is ever any cheaper than the best Amazon prices.
I suspect the 'nice' rep just wanted to to make you feel good
HH3 out soon at a silly price. I would have thought the future was no hub, as such, or at least not such a complex one, a PI size and powered PC would have been ideal price and function wise.
Blimey that's presumably a bit of a bargain! Well, if you need one. Though I can't imagine anyone needing one for insurance purposes etc... buying it on ebay.
Wow, even then (guessing late 90s?) these Thorn bells were made in China!

Phew, that's more like it!

I also thought they kept an in-house dept doing proper eng, as opposed to FM stype stuff, all along? (now recombined)

No you will be replacing the main box as well as the keypad, programming it from scratch.
It sounds like that could be a job for a pro if you're not sure...
Nope, the system is totally obselete, hence my 1992 Astra reference. No spares, no support, no company, nada
When was the system battery last changed?
Best thing would be to update to a Euro Mini or 9651, or maybe Texe etc...
Texecom type panel will give you cloud and self monitoring.
Also proximity fobs so you don't need to give a code out to lodger.
Well, yes it's good to get things fixed, but given the age of this system, it's a bit like me finding a 1992 Astra in the garage with 150k on the clock, and patting myself on the back for
using it as a daily drive.
Basically, if it was me and I had serious intentions of using it (especially if your lodger starts using it) I'd be looking at updating the controls to something with at least a screen other
than a handful of flashing lights so I could see what was going on. Also, even more than ever people ignore a ringing alarm bell if that's the only thing it does if set off.

Another dreamer... a shame as that battery internal speaker, which only ever worked with that panel, was quite quickly discontinued IIRC. I'll stop at using the word 'rare' though.
I also seem to remember the size of it is due to it taking about 20 D cells
"Cost a lot when installed". Yeah, well my 1992 Astra was £10500 at the time, however...
Oddly they still do a Homelink 75 like system, the i-On 40 Style, which obviously supports all the latest wireless sirens etc... and has cloud. Never seen one in the wild.
