  1. BS approved Bell transformer is exempt AFAIK, if wired direct to 5A or 6A? Might be making that up
  2. 46 downloads

Installer and Web Browser setup for i-On range
  3. 26 downloads

Engineering Manual for the entire i-On range from Scantronic, 16, 30, 50, 160 with indications of which features are available for each model. Does not cover Menvier variants.
  4. Guessing the ones in the middle are ceiling detectors! DT yes but I wouldn't personally put a smoke in the garage either, save it for the hall, a heat or RoR seems more appropriate in the garage. Lounge and Bed PIR is facing a window but if mirrored optics less of an issue. Landing deffo needs one two, otherwise its up the stairs during the EE timer, into any other bed and gone again all before you even get an alarm... As I guess the hallway will be on Access.
  5. But presumably separate action for doing the Part-P work without being a scheme member? Unless all non-domestic I suppose.
  6. I know that, just thought that might be a typical response, nothing more.
  7. 'Our web designers put that in without our knowledge, thank you very much for pointing it out to us' ('bugger... oh well got 12 months out of it.')
  8. Honeywell 95p'ers?
  9. Hmmm, results could be biased with that low a sample. I'd say go minimum of 100...
  10. Yes, for a start I had no idea the old Homelink 75 lived on in euroland!
  11. Problem is, as on my parents estate, the PIR cables can be in silly places, all unlabeled, and the cable is el cheapo nasty nasty aluminium tat. Unless you've got a true security bod advising them, and why would they really, it can be just as frustrating in my experience.
  12. Texe 12w Edit: he beat me!
  13. Have to say the SAB wire is the one I'd really not want where its easy for anyone to damage...
  14. Yep I was going to say exactly that, if its signalled why bother with a live external bell? I fit a Elmdene 500S internally, and an identical housing to by 'live' bellboxes with a 5 year flashing LED by Bentley.
  15. +1 I think the i-on 30 is a tidy little panel and it will be hard for me to put it aside - I use it for little all-wired ind. units etc... But I think there a few missing features the Premier seems to offer that I won't say no to. More importantly, Scantronic wireless is very long in the tooth now and the ion-16 is a very cut-down panel, that personally I couldn't recommend. For example, on the 16 (unlike every other ion) your comms options are VERY limited.
  16. I'd bet the house its a Veritas! 'Sparky special' very very basic alarm that uses the same plastics case for the main box and keypad Still very well made to be fair but nowhere near as flexible as the Premier range.
  17. I wouldn't rule out Texe just because you feel your house is 'too small' - its still a great system, and well manufactured. With 9 devices or so. the mesh should have plenty to work with! Plus, the Texe 12W has 4 on board wired zones which might be useful. The HKC and Siemens are good too, although you might have to look around a bit to find a Siemens installer! I always bring demo kit to customers myself, I know some think its a bit old-school but from a customer point of view that's exactly what I'd want - to see what I'm getting not just a scruffy piece of paper with a single figure on it. And as everyone said, don't just go with the cheapest - use the company that you feel the most happy with, and do invite some SSAIB companies to quote for comparison. Also be aware some advice is for your benefit, not just to make more money for the company! For example, the number of times I've been told "we want to save a bit of money, so don't think we need those detectors upstairs" is a good example. It's only when I explain without them, a burglar could, for example, be straight through the door, up the stairs, and not have to worry about an alarm, let alone a confirmed alarm, for a good 20 seconds it hits home. Good luck!
  18. Well, I did this job today swapping out for an LCD based panel. The two detectors in the initial picture... Wait for it, wired in PARALLEL?!!??!! Or as the job sheet which I found (but sadly haven't got) stuffed on top of the cabinet said 'wire garage in parell' Twisted wires to connect speaker in trunking - no insulation Taped up twisted wire joints in loft Somehow ran out of wires for SAB so joined Strobe to Siren!! (Lets not forget even old panel was PD 2010) Front door contact was Grade 1 without tamper. All from an NSI gold sold as Grade 2X. (Not a cash job or homer). Class and a half.
  19. I was going to say, if its not intruder - well, perhaps especially if its not intruder... Whilst I'm here does anyone want to comment on my RA and SDPs? demo SDP.pdf demo RA.pdf
  20. At the end of the day its a new set of directors I suppose - wouldn't they (SSAIB) be on dodgy ground legally? Same staff on tools, same office, and same phone number, and a strangely familiar logo though.... (the logo on the bells is nothing like anything on the website. The S is about 200pts and rotated so it could almost be a 2....)
  21. Yeah I know the whole concept of 'confirmed' is irrelevant with bells..... Bet you its wired in series.
  22. http://www.spansec.com/ Veritas with LED keypad...
