  1. If you choose a Pyronix system, you'll be using a Pyronix wireless sounder They tend not to offer much choice of the wireless sounder, it's either Model A or nowt, this guy wanted a selection box The only exception is that lot who offer a 'loft box', a metal box with a 12V psu that talks to the wireless part of the system and provides standard 12v and strobe etc... terminals for your own choice of wired box I too suspect were after an ADT system on a KFC budget
  2. you just added that, you conman
  3. Are you in the UK? If you need professional advice you should be getting it from your installer who will be installing it. If you intend to DIY install, the advice you get will not be 'professional' as none of us know your actual requirements, you have merely posted a list of product specifications Is this to replace an existing system? Will be usually dictated by (1.) Will usually be dictated by (1.) Outdated, what do you intend to do with this connection if the system is not professionally monitored? There will usually be a choice of 1 wireless siren per manufacturer, so effectively dictated by (1.) again. I give up on the rest as there is no 'best' technology any more than there is a 'best' car.
  4. Enough already!* In any case, won't any installer that isn't the original one probably have to crash the system? I can't remember now if it's full factory reset or codes only on this one... Of course, it might be user tamper reset, even on case tamper, which IIRC is the default. *that's what you can shout, covers both bases
  5. Hi there, I fit the i-On professionally, and it is a great system, especially the free app which allows alerts and remote control. What you would need to do is either; 1. Fit additonal resistors at the sensor end, using the same wiring (this only needs 4 wires per sensor, 2 for power, 2 for Tamper and Alarm combined, we call it EOL, the resistors you need are in the panel packaging) 2. Fit part number ADP-10CC which allows you to continue to use '6 core' or 4 CC wiring without any modifications The EOL concept is not unique to Eaton and anyone on here would be able to talk you through it. I'm guessing the OP is unsure as to how it would all work. IIRC you can actually convert the i-Ons on board 10 zones through menus to 5 zone, double CC although that option might only be on the larger panels But recently all the large panel options (except zone numbers and user number limits, obs) have been enabled on all sizes of panel
  6. It's a dying industry and you would be better off as a 'spark plus' e.g. be able to also competently do fire / access / networking - a nice little earner on small commercial type works. Im my experience of both... People wont even question you for a spark quote if it's something 'nice' e.g. a conservatory, extension, man cave etc... or they are desperate to get an office finished for a business. Especially if the builder is wanting £50k, your quote usually just 'disappears'. People will fight over the last £5 or 'I might just get my mate to do this, thanks for coming' over an alarm (though to my utter amazement mid-priced, non Barrat housing estate round the corner was hard-wired for alarms, with no apparent company on board with the builder...)
  7. Hey OP You should be posting in the vintage section As Yeti if you feel the love for Scanny, a 9651 will feel both familar and bring multiple benefits for a very fair price.
  8. Sorry I should have said, sounds like ground floor only flood wired, 1st and 2nd floors have zilch, there is no voip system as it's not an office, just rented rooms which are for physio type use not offices.
  9. 'Rob F' posted once only and has never been back to the forum - even to read - after that day. So even if he did, I suspect he won't be rushing back to check this thread after 2 years!
  10. You need to program (and use) part set for nights then, this does not mean you cannot have full coverage, just that the behaviour of some zones is different at night, e.g. not an instant alarm but a delayed one.
  11. Will have a look
  12. Yes Cherry ones, available freely without the 'cheat' position so very odd, unless changed. You could fit them to certain plastic cased Scannys too to add case to wall tamper, there is a cutout in the rear of the case, sometimes the switch part number is stamped into the plastic IIRC
  13. Someones been forced asked to do an awareness and diversity course
  14. Probably a large system by London property standards
  15. Just called Paxton and Net2 Access doesn't work like that - tenants CAN 'DnD' to redirect to Reception, but have no way of knowing if reception is actually available to answer or not... I am a bit surprised by this as I thought the big sell with Net2 was for posh flats with concierge, who could similarly be 'in and out' of their reception/office during the day, but allowing flats to redirect calls to them when available esp. if expecting a delivery.
  16. Just had a good customer, who usually gets me to do alarms in his posh houses and CCTV for his rented shops (high class stuff no eastern eurpean tobacco sellers here) and who never argues over cost, ask for an entry system. It's a big Grade 2 listed (going to be hard to run wires) house with about 8 rooms all subbed out to independant physios and the like. It IS flood wired for Cat5, alledgedly. We'll see about that, I've not been there yet. There is a receptionist 'most days' doing 10 -3pm. After that people are having to resort to mobile phoning their respective physio etc... It's hard to quite work out exactly what he wants, but, if it boils down to some sort of system with virtual door entry, e.g each sub has app on phone (wifi is shared) but can deflect to receptionist when they are in, but with a central panel outside, can anyone recommend anything??
  17. And the alarm can be found in several council tips
  18. Or is it just me that think's that defaulting info? Now granted that's probably easily findable elsewhere, but then so is most other defaulting info on a 9651 etc...
  19. Well yes so long as it's showing in "!!..DIY Installers..!!"
  20. Hang on isn't this defaulting info in public?
  21. Have you considered that she does know the reference but still thinks that anyway?
  22. You see that Tommy? That's you that is!
  23. I've got a strange sounder at home, it's a Scanny eurobell plastic case with strobe upgrade for sure, but with a high security, anti drill, thick steel cased backplate that I am certain is nothing to do with scanny... Have a feeling it came from a bank. Oddly the tamper switches are like the ones I have on my fruit machine collection* and even more oddly they are the type that have a 'cheat' position where you can pull the plunger outwards to make (with a machine) the central unit think the door is closed so you can playtest but still eb able to adjust stuff. *of 2
  24. Eeeh, Yetis gone reet posh these days... Good system OP, so don't dispair! Although for some odd reason I now can't get this out of my head...
