Be interesting if you changed the port forward rule name to 'Galaxy' etc... and see if it worked? -

Yuck. Cloud / hole punching is deffo the way to be if you want self monitoring. Did you call the port fowards on the BT hub things like 'Alarm'? I have had trouble using names like 'CCTV' on a HH4. Tearing my hair for hours until I changed the name. Then it all worked. I assume due to the fact there was an entry already named 'CCTV' etc... on the useless drop-down list of pre-filled port forwards, and obviously not picked up in testing. -
^^^ Ooooh, you shoddy rip-off alarm fitter! And pic / sketch of work done / physical relation to panel please.

Pretty sure we had a small number of 800s with those RKPs - I remember initially it was the keypad PCB only which you either fitted directly into the end station or bought a case for. Can't remember when the newer style keypad launched. We mainly fitted the 816 anyway - I can't remember when the 800 itself was withdrawn.

That's great, so you come on a forum, ignore the rules by posting defaulting info, get free info to fix your system, then thanks us by slagging off one of our members. You were happy to pay into the hands of 'rip off' Estate Agents, Conveyancers and Surveyors on your 2 week old 'rip off' house, but then when you didn't want to pay for an alarm service because ADT were a 'rip off' too. Enjoy your 'rip off' 2 weeks away - don't make too many calls on your 'rip off' smartphone or rev your 'rip off' car too much! Merry Christmas!

Normski's Sisters Veritas 8c Nightmare

(I have split this topic) -
Exactly, not worth the time and effort, bin it. Nothing that can't be handled by a Euro mini or 9561 etc... and an inexpensive additional keypad.

I've got; Windows 3000 Borland 286 Emulator FAST Floppy Copy V2.3 Menvier LINELOAD 1.2 (Note: Spanish language version) -
Lol. Obviously, I've since replaced it with speaker wire buried under the insulation from BetterBuys. #looksgreat

And further to the above, if you came here to post a load of 'lol, me too!' tut on year old threads to bulk up your profile then quietly ask for illegal copies of software before disappearing, think again. -
I will have to dig out the pictures from our house survey. I thought the surveyor was taking the picture through several cobwebs in the loft. They turned out to be the wires... literally stretched between points the shortest distance.

Great, but, bumping a year plus old topic just to add a 'lol' probably isn't a great way to make forum friends...

TBH most places I've ever worked, most complaints are from idiots that you wonder how cope with anything ever...

App is about to be relaunched IIRC I think the quality of Texe kit is superior to both, though I only rarely use it. YMMV as they say, but I have not had a peep out of my large Ricochet installation.

Scantronic 9449 replacement keypad
datadiffusion replied to Jack Sparks's topic in Members Lounge (Public)
It was actually 3, it was the 3rd day of 3 days local training on the i-On (and the only one I attended, mainly to ask a load of questions about the new platform, which I did...). I am led to believe the prior 2 days which was far more practical was better attended. However, as I say on this 3rd day Dave came along and there was a lot of discussion about the product. To be fair I was never expecting massive numbers turning out on a freezing day in Highbridge. Nothing earth shattering was revealed but, yes, Scantronic and Menvier brands will be laid to rest, as I thought when the new 40H finally incorporated previously 'Menvier range only' programming features. Also, there will be a massive cull of older models, and the Secure Connect platform will be coming to Grade 3 models, something I wasn't sure about. There may well be no more 1000 zone models and the like, more the ability to network smaller, (perhaps?) 300 zone capable panels together. As previously known new panels can now connect to Webway or CSL, or just SIA over IP direct to any willing ARC, e.g. EMCS. A 4G plug-on module with yearly recurring SIM supplied by Eaton is indeed on the way early next year - let's hope it's priced right in both senses. There seems to (quite rightly) be a lot of consideration for security with the new online system which is NOT hosted on a PC in the corner of head office! I imagine some of this has come from within Eaton group so maybe the takeover is no bad thing. -
Agreed!

Thats a shame, though something that was raised at recent installers - Eaton staff meeting... -
In fact you're both wrong! (though half points to Stuart as it also does happen to be a line from the 3rd filmed version of '1984') I was going to say, could you (Jack) be the new 'Arf*...?

Will you say it, or will I....?

Scantronic 9449 replacement keypad
datadiffusion replied to Jack Sparks's topic in Members Lounge (Public)
literally the same company It appears Eaton still intend to sell the 9449 (after all Texecom still sell their equivalent LED product) but I would be using the 9561 for all new work at 'bells only' level. Your customers will love it as it has a full text LCD display, uses fobs as well as numbers and takes a much bigger (but barely dearer) battery for a long standby. Price wise virtually the same give or take a tenner IIRC. -
Hi & welcome, have replied to your other topic.

Eaton is simply the new owner of the former Cooper Security who until very recently operated under the brand names Menvier and Scantronic. Same people, same name, same product, same factory. Cooper Security as owner and brand has been gone for about a year now. From pretty much now you'll see a lot less of the Scantronic and Menvier names even on the current range and it will all be Eaton. -
Oh yeah sorry should have mentioned, yes the M5 managed section has lots, they adjust to the signs and they go off ALL the time (they actually flash to my surprise) - even at 70 for NSL.
