Interestingly SPC charge the installer for SPC Connect webby (www.spcconnect.com) but not the end user!!
And the pricing is such that with only a handful of SPC panels it just isn't worth it. It was free for the first year or so IIRC.
They have also just added push monitoring to their free app. Be interesting to see if this is before starting to charge. And if so, will it be retrospective?
Proper paid for monitoring, as if your line gets cut you won't get notified.
However, TAP Text notification really is the worst of the worst as even if the line is intact the message failure rate is terrible.

I would tell the landlord to sort it and can't (can) believe they would invite a tenant to interfere with mains electricity / high voltage bellboxes at height etc...
There is already a speaker output on the 9651 which will produce many tones including a distinctive one for the fire alarm.
You can have up to two speakers so ideal for hallway and 1st floor. The output is marked LS + or SPKR depending on version. They are always next to the siren outputs.
Suitable speaker - http://cpc.farnell.com/lynteck/ly07-009-37/extension-speaker/dp/SR04341
Don't bother trying to connect anything to the detectors themselves as it won't be re-settable from the panel and will drive them mad.
However, although approved under certain circumstances bear in mind this sort of setup is more vulnerable to failure in a fire situation of through neglect of the alarm system eg. system batteries.
No, but in 1998 backpackers on an obscure trail in Nicuragua were certain she was living there using the name 'Arreglada' in a remote community.
(Well, it seems the Spanish translation of 'made up' wasn't quite the meaning I was looking for...)
Hi, welcome to the site. Unfortunately, the PM system is only available to those with 5 or more posts. This is to encourage actual use of the site, rather than it being used as a drive-by advert posting board.
Why not introduce yourself in the new members area?
Yep had one much to the neighbours hatred!
They've lost their way a bit, tried to be all about home automation but even most geeks just want stuff that works out of the box like Hue and Nest,
but then again no money in plain old kits any more
Merry Xmas
5 zone alarm panel with circuit and everything - https://www.quasarelectronics.co.uk/kit-files/smart-kit/1094.pdf
Download and save before they remove it (it's been discontinued, a bit like my boat...)
Replacement (but seems to use custom IC) - https://www.quasarelectronics.co.uk/Item/smart-kit-1140-five-zone-alarm-system (and is also EOL!)
Same here was always matey with the CDT teachers (and also thankfully not in a pre-edit Norm way) and allowed in 'as long as you leave it tidy' whenever he or the technician was in.
The tech was one of those educated but dropout herbal cigarette smoking types who really didn't give a toss what I got up to with mains electricity!
I made disco lights, yes using a kit (those lethal, direct off the mains ones Maplins used to sell, PartyLite?) but still got full marks as it was only GCSE level
and I made my own switch panels, MDF cases, etc... which was more what they were after anyway i.e. woodworking and metalwork skillz.
And that's why they call me Disco Stu.
(Nobody calls me Disco Stu.)
Actually I think you'll find the customer requested 'Moonlight Shadow'.
A customer once painted one of my ext. speakers some sort of 'Sunset over Torremolenos' fake tan shade and was very proud when I went back at service...
