  1. Or to be super helpful... V- = GREEN V+ = RED ST- = YELLOW S- = BLACK TR- = WHITE It appears someone has - possibly, left your original bell in 'TEST' mode it's whole life as well. That would not have been useful...
  2. The best house bashers leave the eng code as 7890, I mean who wants calls from customers at 2am???!
  3. I would hazard the tamper is fine if the panel is not in alarm all the time?? As before, with a tamper, you wouldn't even be able to exit eng... It won't hurt to do it though. Going back to basics, what happens when you do a walk test, OP? (Eng Command 97)
  4. OK; so it appears that it has been wired for 'global tamper'. Which is a shame, as this is a capable panel and doesn't need to be used in this 1980s way. But I digress. In engineer mode, what does option 21 say? Just go into engineer, press 2 1 and Enter (Tick) It will either say ' FSL' or 'CC + Tamp' or similar It was - it changed at some point hence a Cooper Bulletin about it catching out the sparkies who didn't get why they couldn't exit eng without tampers! However, either way I can't work out how the OP was able to exit eng mode (or, at least without a tamper alarm within seconds) if the wrong wiring was chosen...
  5. I thought that, but then it would refuse to exit eng though? OP - send us a picture of the alarm PCB as-wired, or, open up a PIR (any one) and show us the wiring.
  6. It thinks all the zones are 'open'. Have you blown a fuse? Are the PIR LEDs lighting? I assume all tampers are OK which is how you've managed to exit engineer mode, otherwise I was going to suggest checking Option 21 in the Eng menu...
  7. If @ me it was a joke relating to my secondary employment, I agree it should be reported, but if the service team felt that was OK, that attitude must have been instilled somewhere, so it wouldn't surprise me if the co's attitude is 'well it works don't it?'.
  8. It won't just be me 'going home in a f**king ambulance'.
  9. Welcome back, hope it all goes well, if you want to learn useful stuff, you can do no worse than TSI. Well, TSI or Viz.
  10. Also antenna polarisation will be completely wrong.
  11. Oh no, not back to the seeance again!
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AXIS-Network-IP-Camera-CCTV-smoked-Dome-Vandal-cover-only-/222491298653?hash=item33cd83cb5d:g:nXUAAOSw-kdX1rGp job done
  13. As above, but if you feel it's a must for some reason, either get it fitted professionally (although that doesn't mean much these days) or buy a *decent* brand broken IP dome cam like an Axis or Panasonic and stick it up at the rear as a convincing looking deterrent.
  14. Just looked on ebay and the absolute oldest Skoda for sale (that I can see) is 2003... How things change.
  15. Yes, this kit is 1-way on the RF side; though I seem to recall it being billed as '2 way' possibly due to the fact that fobs and keypads were?? When was the alarm last serviced and all batteries changed? Although that wouldn't include the recent keypad I guess. Just to be clear, you are certain that the fault as it appears on the screen refers with the remote keypad, and not an error with the on-board one?
  16. I actually thought that the code cracking part of the bypass *was* centralised by east-euro / Russian gangs who charge £££ 'per car' so that only high end stuff like Range Rovers were 'worth it'? A bit like phone unlocking where the software is free, the hardware (if any) is cheap, but the codes are charged per go...
  17. My advice would be not to rush into getting CCTV the same as you rushed into getting a (terrible quality) alarm. Yale are regarded as 'tat' by professional installers, and the likelyhood is as much that the 'jamming' (this can be caused by any emission at the same frequency as the alarm uses, and the alarm obviously has no idea if it is intentional or accidental) was a nearby heating controller, spurious emission, or even one of it's own devices. It's likely you may never know the actual cause. In 'real life' burglars don't bother with electronic countermeasures (even Hatton Garden appears to be a 'good old fashioned blag') they just smash their way in and get what they want. The fact you have a shiny Yale lid (although they are, IMHO, and most others, terrible) is half the battle in persuading them to try the next house along, although some less addled thugs may see Yale and think 'probably doesn't work, probably isn't set' as compared to a clean, branded lid that looks as if it's been properly installed and looked after. All CCTV will do is confirm that the door swinging open and no TV you see with your own eyes, isn't just a bad dream, along with some pictures of men in trakky bottoms with ski masks on who left 6 hours previously. And cheap / crap / rush installed CCTV will just confirm the above in appalling resolution (or not at all if it's night!).
  18. Agreed, but that magic word: If... This applies to many a trade, but essentially I'd those that carry out, arrange or condone that sort of crap work are hardly likely to be so bothered about the industry they spend their time trawling t'internet on nerd forums*
  19. It's not exactly obvious whose work it is, to be fair...
  20. You'd better report that account to tindr mate
  21. I was going to say, 'fault' is stretching it a bit far as I assume all these range of panels are global tamper only*, so 'open (for whatever reason)' seems a more appropriate comment to make. *There was one, single, rareish, Optima that supported EOL though wasn't there?
