  1. No, they are very similar but as far as I know incompatible between the Veritas and Premier systems.
  2. Every decent modern alarm offers this feature, at least as a mainstream or virtually no-cost option, and you DON'T have reprogramme at every 'keypad'! The ADE SS was a kludge hence why each reader simply emulates a standard ADE keypad and the key has to be re-progged on each one. It was presumably discontinued due to very low uptake and the fact that even the cheapest rival panel can do the same thing for less money, plus have LCD full screen text. As above Texecom would probably be your best bet.
  3. I feel sorry for you, imagine it either doesn't get used or no end of callbacks?
  4. Depends on the customers. Block of flats, try explaining that to granny goggins x 6 flats. Esp. if it involves turning off the argos freeview box and then changing her old sony TV from AV1 to tuner, etc...
  5. The fact that your source is DVI or TVI or analogue or HDMI or photon fibre optic is irrelevent to your modulator. Unless the people with the TVs are happy to switch their sets to analogue mode just to view the camera, you'll need to upgrade to a digital DVB RF modulator for the TV feed.
  6. Suspect he means baluns with spare cores used as power. Even so, can you not keep the PSUs in the same location and just move the cams via 8 Cat5s? Better yet try and leave everything where it is and operate remotely!
  7. Well, for a start each camera only uses 1/4 of a Cat5 cable, so you would only be running 8... And to be honest 8 isn't so bad, so I wouldn't risk an all-in-one cable esp. as the number of twists per metre might not match true Cat5 spec.. And it's usually covered in disgusting protective jelly, which I would hate to get involved with indoors (I'm assuming the new room is in the same building) I take it they really, really do have to move by the way, not just that some manager misunderstands that they can (presumably) be accessed remotely via the net? Or do they have a live operator jacking straight into monitors and PTZ etc...?
  8. As previously these look like tat, and false alarms are not fun. Buy something half decent and proper intruder, Texecom RF360 still being made and won't break the bank...
  9. Hi, welcome, here would be fine - http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/forum/113-diy-installers/
  10. I must have missed that but, yes for god sakes using that as a dummy will only increase your chances of being burgled, as any burglar with half a brain will realise that box would be part of a system that would have long stopped being used or working...
  11. Yup just a single IC change. But why you wouldn't upgrade to a 9651 for what it costs, and the benefits, is indeed a mystery... Will they fit my Scirroco?
  12. IIRC the entry exit tone volume control on the 9800+ was moved to a trim pot on the PCB itself, rather than a programming function. This was IIRC a Bodgy McBodge to enable the former command 28 to be reused to enable or disable 'hide status' in the day mode, or something like that... The old 9800 would merrily tell any burglar that could see it that 'Day' mode was in use and it was OK from a risk to employment status PoV to break in. The volume will always 'go up to 11' on a real alarm, regardless of the EE volume, I believe.
  13. It's worse than that, no doubt could have been fixed for £1.99, probably the NVM chip...
  14. Good news on the new nano, I'm no longer openly advertising to fit new alarms but looking after existing customers as long as required...
  15. Good news. And is a new Nano out yet with WiFi and/or PSTN capture?
  16. It's telling you to install a 9651... The 9448 really is very old hat. With the 9651 you'll get a text LCD display, be able to use fobs, but it's just as easy to use. Also the terminology and tones are the same so a nice bit of familiarity... All for the price of McDonalds for four...
  17. Good news for HKC fans, didn't they try and lock the protocol down so is this a Webway exclusive?
  18. You'll definitely need a time machine for that.
  19. Have to say that seems like a huge promise for frankly a hurriedly written piece with not too much pertinent information. If you don't mind some constructive criticism that would hardly be likely to attract the kind of high talent you seem to want, IMHO. Also, putting 'no timewasters' is a bit like putting 'No Bankrobbers, please' above a branch of HSBC.
  20. At £1 an hour I thought you were offering the full early 80s package?
