  1. Like that but I remember finding the website at the time and def. wasn't BSB...
  2. Right, fair enough. 2nd guess then; 'British DigiLock Ltd.'
  3. As I say I'm going to guess. So, I'm going to start off by guessing 'Surrey Digital Lock Systems (1978) Ltd.' Quizmaster, am I right or wrong.
  4. I think I can guess who it was - the same people who made the one I took out of an old BaE systems place a few years back I suspect. I posted about it at the time, and was amazed to find the company apparently still trading with a very 1990s looking website. Their products also seemed to be rebadged by Chubb at one time, and the website had the same ones I remember from banks back then including the 5 digit ones that were like 5 typewriter keys in a row, no numbers, in a folded metal case to hide your finger movements.
  5. Love the bonded ADSL! Guessing it works just as well, and the only solution short of FTTD?
  6. I didn't realise that was a garage - seems obvious now, so yes to the ped. door contact and no to any PIRs (DT's or contacts would be much better) Whilst probably insulated, I assume the garage is effectively unheated and not 100% sealed so PIRs would not be a great choice. I would always put at least one PIR upstairs myself otherwise you could one day kick yourself, esp. on a domestic which I assume is 'bells only'.
  7. But suspect that Pete meant the OP buying a 'Zingui Best Quality 100% genuine CIA* approved access control system - £19.87 ship from China' rather than a damaged box Paxton though? *chondou intruder alarms
  8. I wouldn't put contacts on internal doors unless lockable or sprung shut (unlikely on a domestic) Do you have anything upstairs at all?
  9. Axis 1000 unit would be good for online 3rd party integration with membership etc... but no doubt it's all been done before and most gym memberhship software supports a certain manf's gear? For a gym, I wouldn't be honest be too bothered about anti passback unless a completely unattended situation.
  10. It doesn't look fake either, especially as they are not asking for any money nor creating any undue sense of urgency / threats of jail etc...
  11. Ah well, what shame, back to wired alarms then... ;-)
  12. Due to a dvla cockup i once had two parking ticket ntk's go straight to vauxhall motors, luton!
  13. The odd wording makes me think it was a temporary motorway 50mph speed limit, either roadworks or 'managed motorway' variable limit.
  14. No, in terms of retail / direct sales, but... ergo...
  15. Yeah but I mean it says the call came direct from 999 on a mobile after a power loss, so presume the alarm itself went off far too late?
  16. I guess that as it was a manual activation, the fire alarm was of secondary interest - however, there clearly wasn't anything in the CU cupboard...
  17. We used this years and years ago on a Docklands job. It was 8 bog standard but marked & branded LSF Cat5s, each a different colour, in a clear thin outer sheath. Not seen it since tbh. Cost a lot but worth it on a 'central london' job and saved a load of labour.
  18. Nope not a jot of difference, although arguably a lot more internal plastics to burn on a 90s 3 phase and if in a tiny cupboard...
  19. Shall we just cut to the chase and let me claim my prize? Seriously though, is this because of a demand from your existing customers, or something else? Do you have any electrical / electronic experience at all, I mean electrical installation and/or wired alarms not just wireless kits etc... Do you intend to carry on with the manned stuff?
  20. Yup
  21. Loose N. That's how an otherwise very good electrician friend of mine cause £1m+ worth of damage to a new-build nightclub that hadn't even opened. He forgot to tighten the N nut on the main busbar and then as the occupier moved in and ramped up the load...
  22. It's a democracy on TSI*, let's find out... *unless the Admins disagree
  23. Who is more tragic? Lets vote...
  24. I think for general maint it looks ace
  25. Clik was written for Daikin (air con installers) and as a result of the authors going solo, it has been taken up by plumbers and now some sparks since they got the licence from NICEIC to do the official version of the certs (they also do Gas Safe). It could also be used by any 'service' type business i.e fac maint etc... and integrates with Sage nicely. BUT it is of little to no use for alarms as it offers precisely zero specialist features in this direction. My mate works for them and says a few years back they considered it but them thought the maket too small and the competition too large already on that basis.
