  1. Well, you're not going to believe this. Walked into a job, and whats on the wall? After asking the husband if they still used it (all the lights were off) and if he wouldn't mind me having it, we started the chest compressions on his wife and all that old hat...
  2. Why is the goalie sponsored by Yale?
  3. Like this...? (but the answer is no, sorry!)
  4. Ah right, is this why there are loads of missing images, such as on this topic...
  5. Saw the 'MG' version of the 25 on the motorway yesterday, reminded me that Clarkson actually rated them in a newpaper review at the time (2001-2 ish), although prob paid to do so...

  7. The 816 was sort-of alright in the sense of less to go wrong. But so utterly pointless with the 9751 etc... around the corner.
  8. Yep remember those, like a torbeck WC cistern float? Didn't certain high end Risko bells come with similar as an option?
  9. No, the actual installation serials are generated on the fly based on the machine in question. But they are happy to support you moving from one to the other, as I've done before, c/w settings etc... being exported. But def. required contact with Paxton HQ.
  10. It's an 816 so no expanders then, however, you're right, remove the keypads and wire each individually, then all 3 DIRECT to the panel with a short length of new wire. That will quickly rule in/out RKP vs. wiring faults.
  11. 4c Counselling Services? I hear Ox applied...
  12. Is this it? http://firealarmengineers.com/forum/attachment.php?thumbnail=2354 Wow. Sort of like a fire 9800, but less reliable then?
  13. Horrible panel (worst thing I ever did was bin my 9600 at home for one when they came out way back when) Have you tried a cold start (mains and battery removed) [bEWARE OF MAINS VOLTAGES] Otherwise have you perhaps disturbed any wiring to one of the RKPs?
  14. Its likely modern pirs or motion sensors will be fine with pets, unless multiple, large dogs etc...
  15. New Menvier or Scantronic Ion also supports 2 onboard zones with rkp
  16. Read the bit about custom outputs / timers / cause and effect.
  17. Most DIY sheds (and to be honest most electrical type places, even if aimed at trade) sell Copper Coated Alumium cable, aka CCA Indeed go to trade places like CPC, Neweys and Denmans and you'll not be able to buy anything else but CCA. Your local security counter will sell it too, but will always offer many other pure copper alternatives. CCA is frankly horrible tat and I, and *most* decent installers IMHO won't use it on a proper job. However, it sounds as if - from the description, whcih might be wrong - screwfix sell proper 'copper' cable and TBH at that price it should be. If it is, it's a good start in terms of ease of wiring (stripping cable) and zone resistance.
  18. Indeed no need for relays I'm certain, as to the exact method, RTFM OP I'd say.
  19. Interesting - the only non-security specialist store, esp. DIY orientated, I have ever found claiming (it seems) to sell NON CCA cable....
  20. Pretty sure the prem could with custom output / timers forming part of that custom output
  21. Strobe is just a steady output. Some sort of custom one with a variable, resetting timer set to 0.5s?
  22. Yup the tiny 'hidden' unfiltred o/p is handy, amazingly some BT contractors don't even seem to know what it's for Interestingly the 'Fujitsu' dongle (if it ever really was made by them) lives on here... http://www.pressac.com/_literature_3542/DS034_ADSL_Microfilter
  23. Once did testing at a static caravan site off season, all unoccupied part from caretakers, to his surprise I had to actually look at the consumer unit (again, 'no one else ever has...') he all too quickly opened the wardrobe and removed the plastic box full of 'All New Teen Anal Amatuers' DVDs etc.. a bit too quicky with the result the side of the flimsy poundshop crate caught on the door scattering the entire scud collection on the floor. I pointlessly pretended I hadn't seen and just got on with testing, and sure enough next year the wardrobe was presented all ready and empty....
  24. Noooooooo! Ah well, want to be a mod Rob K?
  25. Oh yeah, for 30 years at least, and it was deffo his (builder, assume cash job) but he'd clearly forgotten in the ten years since the date on the envelope. On another job we found a hidden cabinet with xxx vids, 'boring' monied couple in banking... we were doing the system and a rewire whilst they were on holidays. Gaffer had to admit as we'd just put a 20mm hole in one of the vids!!!
