  1. Seen the new Honeywell (branded at least) DIY tastic http://www.screwfix.com/p/honeywell-home-garden-wireless-burglar-alarm-kit/5314j
  2. Not sure what you mean there. It's for discussing specific issues to do with the industry, faults, problems, business ideas. All very personal and with a very good reason not to be in public.
  3. It may very well be sensitive information, but we don't have any such duty of care at this time, and if we did, it is or was already front page news on regular mainstream, non security specific sites. Again this is my own personal opinion and other members may disagree too.
  4. We don't allow engineer defaulting info as a matter of principle, anyone with half a brain could find them elsewhere in seconds more's the pity, but there you go. So I don't think we need to be over protective on this subject, that's my personal opinion anyway.
  5. Lol, welcome!
  6. It self destructs* *not really
  7. Yes as part of Caradon plc, they bought Chloride except the battery / vehicles bit afaik. Then Honeywell bought all the non building materials off Caradon, i think...
  8. I saw an ADE ultimate RKP for the first time last year It was so big I assume it had just been left on the wall rather than make a mess removing, next to the working Gal keypad...
  9. I keep some real old scanny tat, but I wouldn't keep that!
  10. Hello And Welcome
  11. Yes, a few years back I'm sure genuinely properly made here. Been replacing a few pyronix dual sounders, old ones made in uk, new ones made in china...
  12. I was of the impression very little pyronix gear was still made in the uk?
  13. Agreed but if it's in the middle of a city centre like some of my customers, poor road access, no 'outside' other than the street, or office between one above and below etc... If it's an industrial estate or the like seems a very sensible option. Agreed, if you really wanted to do this route than I see no other sensible option than a couple of large leisure type batteries. As far as using them vs. not using them, I also thought many maglocks went into 'power reduction' once the magnet had been attached?
  14. Energy not really, cheapest may have total dogshit CS, which is fine till it goes wrong like it has after we move.... Insurance I am VERY suspicious of the cheapest quote, usually need to add in legal straight away and T+Cs are usually a pisstake. So neither our energy supplier nor my van insurance are the absolute cheapest (but obviously not anywhere near the dearest either)
  15. assume virgin or openreach?
  16. Do they want to use the doors or just keep them physically secure?
  17. Yeah bad luck but welcome!
  18. Hi and welcome!
  19. As norm, the 9448 really isn't flexible enough to handle such add-ons sensibly. I would go for a completely separate system. In fact, I would recommend a GJD 'Emerald' or similar controller so that the beams can make a 'beep' which can easily be turned on/off without codes, but also trigger mains voltage lights as this sounds like a concern for you too.
  20. Sure, about 6 hours... #windup ?
  21. I'll second that! And that, again, not to be confused with notifying. Not sure where you are getting this from but it's outdated. Due to gov. lobbying, from April 2015 kitchen fitters have had kitchens REMOVED from Part P so they can go back to the same old piss-poor chuck it in behind the chipboard bodges they used to do...
  22. Will do - v4.05 software out yesterday as it happens! Quite a few useful updates in there too, some of which will benefit existing systems. Fair play to Eaton they are obviously getting people doing things other than prepare for redundancy...
  23. Yes, if it was my own system I would definitely upgrade, and also the new panel will have a more efficient switched mode PSU AFAIK. Adrian will confirm but isn't Ricochet easier to manage with the Elite panels?
