  1. Yep as above, you don't want it going off over xmas dinner...
  2. Except that 2screw has filled the screen with... oh, thats not tippex...
  3. Nor your special interest 'rythym' magazines.
  4. Your poor taste in decor is of no concern to this forum
  5. Forget the burns, it's the cyanosis I'm worried about! So you wouldn't ask me again. He he he....
  6. I'm not allowed the tea bit after the accident...
  7. In terms of the effort required, relatively speaking.
  8. Why? Why would anyone out for a quick buck choose 'professional' bus DTs at £40 each when they could just slam in a wireless kit?
  9. Thing is it's come and gone before, Risco bus etc... I did think Texe were working on one though? Be ace if it was just 2 wires in, 2 wires out and no polarity etc... with star/spur wiring no issue. Still think it would have the edge over wireless
  10. Nah the H box was too level to be one of yours...
  11. Ah right it's the keypad only ones you need to be careful of. I assume that the bell has been wired normally, so at the panel, find the whole cable going to the bell, and you will (should) have a +ve and -ve hold-off wire, going to the normal 12V supply, a wire going to a terminal marked 'BELL' or similar, possibly one going to 'STROBE' and crucially, one going to a terminal marked 'TR', 'TA' or 'TAMPER RETURN'. If you remove this wire, connect it to the -ve lead of your multimeter and the +ve multimeter to any 12v feed - if it reads 12V, the tamper on the bell is closed. If you're reading nothing, the tamper is probably open. Or at least, that's the theory, of course I don't know much about your installation, bell setup, etc... but that would be normal.
  12. There are some real shady types selling Securit Keypads on ebay, I would be careful! Don't know a lot about this system. Is number 8 a zone or does it indicate a tamper or bell tamper? If it can't be reset it points towards a tamper, I would return to the bell box and make sure that, locally at least, you are closing the tamper switches. When I say return, you can of course measure it at the panel 1st.
  13. Was in an 80s new build finishing off today, started Tuesday and there was the remains of an old 2 zone type key system but nothing worth reusing cable wise, redone from scratch. Lol at them bashing multiple holes with a hammer for mains from roof until they worked out where the joist was. Tiny ceiling so not visible without ladder and shelving removed.
  14. Did you use the correct test kit? http://www.waynekerrtest.com/global/html/contactus.htm
  15. Adjust knob V2 until picture improves?
  16. But surely bells customers don't particularly care about getting their installations by approved co's either?
  17. I had a slightly old (but still at least mid 2000s era) Fujitsu TFT that simply won't connect to any DVRs Just states 'out of range' on the OSD. Binned now anyway.
  18. I'd actually they want smartphone more than IP signalling, but Enforcer can take a Webway Nano, as can Texe, so it's way behind the curve. Just fitting an iOn 40 today which will go straight onto Webway.
  19. 16 is a dinosaur, you can't update it and you can't add IP type signalling unlike every other model. Amazed it hasn't been replaced by an 'ion 20' with the same serial port as the rest and a couple of wired zones Before anyone says 'and 2 way wireless', agreed, but the stupid thing is, it's been 2 way capable since launch. The fools just haven't released any non-control type 2-way devices for it other than (recently) a smoke alarm.
  20. Doesn't really do anything a decent wireless DT like ricochet can do And it requires lots of f**king sockets by the sounds of it.
  21. Did a takeover years ago that had Racal detectors all wired in 16 core, extra 4 colours were stripey on white, and it wasn't phone cable.
  22. Depends - if you've had a few power cuts (or more likely, power turned off all day for building work etc...) then the battery will last nowhere near as long if completely discharged.
