There is no requirement to have a bell on the system at all and for systems that do have bells it makes no difference if wired or wireless.

Is that the problem. More time = more cost and something that usually the end user doesn't want to pay? I agree it shouldn't be plan A

I can see why you say that but realistically someone going to go the effort of ripping up the floor? Thought tex had a wireless bell out or are just about to?

You got half of it right. Keep +12v where it is and move the neg wire to bell trigger, not -12v as you did which is why it rang constantly. Forget without looking in the manual but if you know where +/- 12v is it should be easy enough to work out. Unless you want to take a photo of the terminals and I'll tell you which one.
