  1. Yes the client pays but would you really want to mess around with all that on a Sunday when the snooker is on?
  2. Versa keypads very similar to menvier and pyronix?
  3. Give me a shout when you are back in the country, we are in Newark. We use sub contractors when the work load is heavy.
  4. GJD dtech are very good on false alarms I find.
  5. Nathan are you in need of a job when you return to the UK?
  6. What was the outcome sparky?
  7. GLUE!!
  8. Could be a range of faults on that panel. Control panel battery, control panel lid tamper, global tamper (detection devices), bell tamper, to name some. I would recommend calling in an engineer to check through it all. Check on the NSI website for approved companies in your area, or likewise with the SSAIB website.
  9. But this is exactly why people expect things for free. I wouldn't have had a problem doing it but it would have gone on the sheet for the company to charge extra for. I am not sure what ADT's protocols are. Engineers might be instructed not to touch anything except the alarms.
  10. I once hung some computer screens on a wall in a server room whilst on a job. Paid me £40 for an hours work.
  11. Could you PM me the number you use? (don't think this thread is in trade)
  12. Not good. Our troublesome unit is constantly crashing. "Abnormal shutdown" in the log. Majority of the time is linked to a remote playback log in from the customers ipad2 at pretty much exactly the same time. ADI have reported to hik, see where we get.
  13. We had the LED issue. Nothing since updating camera firmware. I was informed it was caused by an apple device remotely accessing the machine for the first time, causing the glitch. When you say die.. Do you mean for good, or crashes and in need of a reboot?
  14. More since the last thread?
  15. For years and years we have fitted our own Spurs with no certificates or proper testing, until recently. do you guys add a set price for a spur onto your quote to the customer? It becomes difficult in a domestic environment when the location of a control panel can change so quickly on install day.
  16. yes this is exactly the problem I was having with a particular site - unable to access from the lan, but okay on the wan is this always called loopback or different terminology for different brands?
  17. could you explain loopback? it sounds like a few problems ive been having. and also.. do all you guys supply your own router when networking a dvr? a known, easy to set up router thats already configured before it leaves the office.
